Perfect a year wait time is long but absolutely perfect for me as I don't have the money to drop on it in it's entirety but that way I can save up for it, and have it by next fall. I would buy a used one which I probably will do if it ends up being that I can't get an RD shape.

I'm a one guitar man and I don't like harems. I just play one so once I find myself really courting my new guitar the others get sold. I'm just like that though, I can only bond with one at any given time haha

I've contacted them hope to get a response sometime this week.

That's a respectable time frame although I fear that he won't make an RD shape even though he was making a bunch of them a while ago. I'd rather just buy a cheaper used one later if I can't get exactly what I want.

Well once he gets back to me regarding the answer to that then I might be hitting you up haha. Gibson is crazy stingy and it sucks especially for the likes of the RD, that shape is awesome and was super neglected by them. They decide to release a couple shitty copies for like 2000 bucks and expect anyone to bite when the originals can easily be found for less.

Skullservant's price is great. I would jump on it if I liked that headstock.

Buying EGC's used is sort of a crap shoot. With maybe 1400 in existence, there are always a couple for sale, somewhere. Finding one you want, like an RD body, is going to be hard to come across used.

7-9 months is getting better for standard production stuff. I have a friend who has two basses on order for about two years now, although one is a wedge. He has never begged Kevin to get it done, in fact I believe he may have even said something to the effect of "take your time." Hopefully soon.

I have lots of thoughts about getting another a 2nd EGC. Single coils and vibrato would be a nice addition to what I have, but then again so would an EGC bass VI. Then I wonder if I have become more of a one guitar guy as well, since I can only play one at a time anyway. I also find that I can keep one thing in working condition if it is my only thing, which applies to amps and tape echo units too.

I have really only been playing my King Buzzo since I got it a month ago. Heaps lighter than my yellow EGC1000.

I wonder what really slows him down...is it a lack of CNC or whatever machine he uses? Is it a lack of qualified people to set them up? You'd think he'd raise prices till people started backing off so he could shorten those wait lists. I'm certainly no business person and I'm no luthier either but you'd think a few extra machines would pay for themselves and he could train some people to put them together since they don't have to do the carving and truss-rod work.

I was just thinking. It's not that aluminum guitars are anything new but I don't think they've ever been close to this popular. I wonder if we'll ever see one from Fender, Ginson or any other major manufacturer.

I Think the standardization of their ordering system was a great move for efficiency and wait time sake. It still seems like you can get quite the custom guitar even with their number of options that they give you.

Any way for them to boost sales. Reverting back to 2014 pricing structure and ridding their main models of all the BS that very few actually asked for was another step, as everyone already knows. Gibson used to be able to rest on their laurels, only taking on big manufacturers and the odd small business for infringement of some kind (PRS comes to mind), but now their name is so tarnished that they need to squash down on any competition that are making superior instruments for the same amount of money.

It seems like he wants to maintain quality control and he hasn't been able to find people to train to do precisely what he wants.
