So I just lost 25,000 souls and I'm pissed. I won't drop any spoilers, but fuck the first optional boss

On a positive note, I found a Claymore and it's sweet

I hear you on that silver kite eagle shield. Been using that one with Uchigatana. Dumped a bunch of shards into a rapier, as well, but haven't messed around with it yet.

You're gonna get your ass beat when you get to Garlagor the Skank-Beast.

Well, without spoiling anything, this one is worth fighting (if it's the one I'm thinking of)...

Btw, if this just happened (no other death since) and you have a ring of sacrifice, buy a homeward bone, equip both, go back to the boss fight, grab your souls quickly, find a moment where you have a couple of seconds and use the homeward bone to get back to firelink shrine.

The ring of sacrifice is useful in case you die doing that, in that case you won't put a new bloodstain and thus your previous one (with all the souls) will still be there.

It didn't just happen and I don't have a Ring of Sacrifice, but it sounds like the Ring of Life Protection from DS2. I would really like to find one of those eventually; so damned useful when you're stockpiling souls.

Just finished watching fightingcowboy on YouTube play all the way through dark souls 3. The full walk through. It was awesome. I haven't played a video game in years but I fully enjoyed watching that. Such a cool game!

I think there's at least one you could have gotten because I'm pretty sure I had one by the time I got to this boss. No idea where I got it from though :).

The best video playthrough I know of is a guy called James that used to work at GameFront doing a playthrough of Dark Souls. Funny as hell, the guy has trouble remembering things all the time and does some incredibly stupid (but funny) stuff unintentionally all the time...

Damn, because of my terrible internet and the fact that I don't have a Playstation Plus account, I don't see any messages or bloodstains from online, so I've probably missed a ton of secrets :(

25,000 souls isn't that much. Shit, that doesn't even get me a full level. There is a pretty good bonfire for farming souls a later in the game where you can recoup that in two runs.

I think I'm almost done the game, I don't know. I'm pretty far though. Some bosses in this game really piss me off.

Oh I know it's not that much in the long run, but early game it's quite a bit. I found a good place to farm near the end of the third area and spent most of the night farming and watching X Files  I managed to make up all those lost souls by the end of the first episode.

And thanks oscillateur. I actually know exactly where that is. I couldn't get to that one because I was coming from the wrong side. I just left it planning to explore and find my way to the other side, but I never did

Fucking hell, I'm having a blast with Dark Souls 3. I've gotten to a really good pvp area and I've been spending all my time there pulling invaders and having free for all battles with my buddies. There's also a ring that makes the wearer invisible at a distance, so I've been using that. So funny to see invaders confused and not know what's going on.

Here's a pretty good recent highlight:
