Also on a deadline for a super creatively uninspiring/draining job, and therefore patience is razor thin. Bah.

popvulture wrote:What the fuck is wrong with people on Craigslist? Put up some pedals last week with the note ABSOLUTELY NO TRADES.

So far have gotten three responses:

1. A haggle on the cheapest pedal (offering $50 on $60. No.)
2. A person asking to ship (No, that's why I put it on Craigslist)
3. A person asking to ship AND trade one pedal for a less valuable (and IMHO shittier) pedal

Seriously, what the fuck? I had to come on here just to keep from tearing the last guy's head off. Didn't feel like it'd be worth bothering, but fuck... so tempting.

Meh, that is kind of standard rate.

1.) Asking $10 isn't that bad. Did you counter offer with $55? And had they asked, if you'd do $25, that would be a dick move.

2.) I ship stuff - and have asked others to - on craigslist all the time. As long as they are paying with Paypal. I've never shipped anything big, just pedals, but it's always worked out - both as a seller and buyer. You just have to kind of vet - the best you can - the potential buyer, whether they might be a scammer, but that usually seems to be easily to determine right off the bat.

^ agreed on all counts. if you use paypal it's a secure transaction. those are pretty common craigslist responses, I bet it's only bugging you because of your job, I wish you luck, doing work like that is awful for me as well.

Yeah I think I just got pissed about the 10 bucks because the pedal was already priced low / totally fairly.

The main thing that got me furious was that I specifically said no trades in the posting, and the guy offers to trade me some shitty Morgan fuzz that's worth less than the pedal I had for sale. It's always this way with Craigslist... people just don't pay attention, or they just completely don't give a shit / have any respect for you. I can't tell you how many times I've put up ads looking for drummers that say like "Constantines, Dismemberment Plan are good reference points," then get some bumbling fucking simpleton who's telling me about how seriously Jesus ties into his playing and how he likes Dream Theater.

But yep, work's got me salty. And just all the shit on the radio/TV about politics, the general state of everything. Feeling bleak. Argh.

Thanks for letting me vent...

Health is real bad since yesterday, taking the week off in bed, if it declines any further I might have to get medical care, don't want to go to a midwest doctor as a "trans woman". Fugg. Need vegetables.

What were you buying? EBS Cables, by chance? Curious because I was thinking about ordering some, but now maybe not...

The only problem with ordering EBS cables from Full Compass right now is they might send you of the old ones one week and some of the new ones the next week.

Listen to really crappy music for a few weeks and then come back to your favourite musicians again. Or stop listening to music for a while and just play for yourself. That can help from time to time. The finest meals and beverages every day can annoy some people as well - after a few days of abstinence or frozen food it's tasty again. :)

Or maybe it's time to search for a different kind of music style. Listen to what might expand your horizon and don't dump what you liked until now. Put that on standby mode and focus on new things. And when the time has come you can reach back to what you always liked and maybe it will merge perfectly with the new tunes.

To test the eq frequency of my amp and pedals today and make sure the bottom end had enough definition, i was playing mindless chugs chugs riffs and it ended up just being terrible brocore breakdowns :picard:

The upshot is that a fuzz face and a Black Forest make for the best hardcore-ish sound ever, so I'm one step closer to starting my Zozobra worship project.

So what's normally your favorite music? You do have a community of dweebs with fairly encyclopedic knowledge of music at your hands... recommendations can be had.
