That's why I didn't choose a fuzz. There're too many favorites. :D :whoa:

popvulture wrote:I'll also say that despite its name being in many, many ways sullied by hype and blooze-lawyer fixation, my Klon is very special to me. I bought it directly from Bill Finnegan when he was still selling them, and at the time it felt like such a cool experience. He wanted to you call him and actually have a conversation about what kind of guitar/amp you used, and what you were going for. He wasn't snotty about it, either—it felt more like he just realized he was selling an already pretty exorbitantly priced pedal, and seemed to care about whether or not it would be worth it for you. Nowadays that kind of direct contact with the builder is super commonplace, but back then it felt rare. Anyway, I really appreciated it and have continued to use the pedal more than any other OD. Of course it could have just been part of a masterful lore-building strategy on his part, in which case I fell for it hook line and sinker. Either way, those are my deeper connection pedal stories, and I'm stickin' to em. :)*

Ironically, this's my favorite pedal that I'm sick and tired of hearing about. :snax:

Haha yeah me too--I never would even bother bringing it up unless it's a conversation like this. Otherwise too polarizing.

No, it's a great circuit. It's just that everybody seems to have a (usually) misinformed opinion on it.

What's your favorite clean boost of all time?

LOL, the only boosts I like are dirty and non-transparent as hell, if we're talking pedal format.

For "always on goosing the signal" I'll go back to the Space Echo.

The preamp plus how much output it has on tap is ridiculous, and that has flavored everything.

You mean the most boring pedal variety of all time?

Part of what I adore about the DMM is its always-on preamp. As an attenuator, boost or drive. But it's mostly the repeats & oscillation.
DMM ruined me for other analog delays...next best thing to a legit tape echo like the EP-3 it attempts to emulate.
[B/S/T shoutouts] Shortlist: Hollow Earth|Ct5|856|Condor|Thermae|OP-1|half track reel2reel|Prophet6 ... :whoa:

Ill cast another vote for big muff. If I had to have just one pedal on my board, it'd be a muff, though preferably with a built in boost and mids
We're on a road to nowhere. Come take a ride.

I'm on the other side of the fence, I'd sell a DMM for a digital in a heartbeat, I didn't like 'em when they were cheap (by delay standards of the day)!
