The only multi I've owned to compare it to is a Timeline and the Nemesis is better in every way for me. I've also extensively researched all the other multi delays and listened to a ton of demos. It's a small footprint, intuitive, sounds incredible, I like the majority of the algorithms, great functionality and the fact there's another 12 types of delay on the back end accessible by an app and can be brought to replace any you don't like on the front means you can have 12 right there that you love every one of them and they're still creating more to add and will continue to do so. Presets are great. MIDI capable. Great delay.
And yeah, the Fuzz Mutant is a must if you're into fuzz

Dang. There go my savings
I know not this "savings" of which you speak.
In my case, the definition would be: The coins I can find underneath my car seat and couch cushions, plus whatever I can save on food the next couple weeks

Little bit of hairy thigh, just for fun.
Dat postive
I still think I could replace my Hotcake with a Positive AND end up with a little bit of beer money
The switch though...It's like having my tone control either clockwhise or counterclockwise, right? So doesn't yours sound either super harsh or really dark?

Ummm I think it's a little more than that. Not really sure though. With it up it is scooped and makes the pedal feel very much like a distortion pedal. With the switch down it seems to have a flat eq and sounds more like an overdrive. More organic or transparent or whatever lame term you want. Also, with the switch up it turns into chunky djenty stuff when cranked. With it down it turns into more of a loose fuzz, reminding me of my tonebender.

I see. Still, there should be some range inbetween those two settings, right? I mean, to blend in some of the flat overdrive into the scooped distortion, or vice versa. Would've been neat if Montreal Assembly offered the $12 (or whatever) tone pot option. There's not too many other hotcake clones out there as far as I'm aware of...
Ha yeah I don't think a knob would kill them. I have so many dirt boxes with hecka knobs, I always find the simplicity nice, but I just leave it with the switch down 100% of the time. Might as well not have the switch for how I've ever used it.
