Re: The Video Game thread
Yeah in anticipation of more Fallout DLC I bought season pass last night.
Keen to get tinkering.
Also after my last hard drive wipe and fresh install I'm not running Nexus mods anymore.
I gotta say I'm a little disappointed that a lot of the great Nexus mods haven't made it over to Bethesda but at least their installation/loader is basic as fuck and shit works.

Re: The Video Game thread
Whoaaaaaa, RE7's Demo is great, it even has multiple endings.
But it still has the absurd Japanese horror sensibilities like the typical Resi styled item descriptions as well as the utter weird shit like a barely identifiable thing stuffed in a microwave and animal carcasses just laying around. The series was always a tribute and a mesh of different Classic Horror elements - this seems the have the Campiness of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Cloverfield and shamelessly has run with the P.T schtick which everyone wants. People want the series to go back to Horror so they actually are.
I do hope we still get some S.T.A.R.S and Umbrella nonsense even without Leon, Redfield and Wesker because Resident Evil has always been lovably camp.

Not me, even though I have only heard good things. There's a guy at my work that is pestering literally everyone he can to get it so we can all "be a badass team". But I have next to no interest in online based games. I play games to avoid people, not hang out with them.
I haven't seen too much at e3 that I'm overly excited about. I'm probably most excited for the new South Park game. Maybe, Dishonored 2; I have a love/hate thing going on with the first. I am cautiously excited for Death Stranding; the trailer was awesomely uninformative, but I also feel like it will just fall through like Silent Hill. I really dislike the God of War series, Greek mythology and button mashing are both so boring, but I am excited for it to be Norse Mythology (still, button mashing, bleh). I haven't watched the trailers for Horizon: Zero Dawn or Detroit: Becoming Human yet, but they do look up my alley.

Same here.
I can take it or leave it. It's quality and fun with friends, but the same PvP shit over and over and over. That's it.
I can't spend all of my time playing something so repetitive with no story or upgrades or anything........alone.
I hate to say this in the same post, since it's very common to see.......... but I'm finding Battleborn a lot more fun. My first MOBA type game.
I disliked the Beta, but the full release is a good game overall......could use more playerbase on PC, but yeah....I got 40 hours in it now....and I can't wait to play when I get home.
Battleborn is suffering from a lot of poor choices. Lack of marketing, pushing what is different about it, lack of communication about patches, and length of time to get patches.
It at least has an upgrade and gear/loot system.....plus achievements....if you like that sort of thing. So much more depth to the game than OW.
Can't compare them though, since OW is slick fast TF2 and Battleborn is a MOBA FPS with a slower pace.

I'm still waffling on whether or not to buy Overwatch.
Amazon has DOOM (PC) on sale for $39.99 with free Prime shipping. https://www.amazon.com/Doom-PC/dp/B00M3 ... rdfocom-20

Re: The Video Game thread
Man seriously FUCK Doom 4. I'm stuck on this dumb ass demon that's huge as shit and hard as fuck to kill. Apparently it's the hardest boss in the game. I've read, and there's no good tricks to killing him and I can't even get close. I don't have enough ammo and the motherfucker throws walls up and shit and waves of fire. Fucking stupid. He's supposed to drop life and shit when you shoot him from what I've read but he doesn't. So annoying. It made the game go from fun to annoying and not fun. I like a challenge but this shit is ridiculous.

Re: The Video Game thread
Also, why is there massive amounts of cheat codes for the PC version but not the console? I want to cheat damn it!!!

Finally watched a trailer for Horizon. Feel pretty meh about it now. It looks like Farcry Primal with robot dinosaurs. Which really, robot dinos should make me go fuck yeah, but still I just felt meh.

You forgot Brave, and the gameplay mechanics look like a lot of fun. Very smooth and fast paced.MrNovember wrote:Finally watched a trailer for Horizon. Feel pretty meh about it now. It looks like Farcry Primal with robot dinosaurs.

Re: The Video Game thread
Yeah, I want to like it, but it just doesn't excite me for some reason. Also, I really hope the dialogue was just for demo purposes because it was pretty bad. I'm just going to withhold judgement until more gameplay comes out.UglyCasanova wrote:You forgot Brave, and the gameplay mechanics look like a lot of fun. Re: The Video Game thread
Finally catching up on more videos from e3 instead of sleeping, because fuck sleep:
- Detroit Becoming Human looks amazing; androids, sci-fi, looks very story driven, and choices with huge consequences. Very excited for this one now
- I'm very surprised with how much I liked the look of God of War. The combat actually looked really satisfying and not as button mashy as the earlier ones. Also, Vikings
- Steep looks cool if I can play it offline. I'm not sure I could support any more Ubisoft games though. I keep having terrible experiences with them.
- And super excited for Oxygen Not Included! Don't Starve is amazing and it really just looks like Don't Starve in space.
