Way to go, UC. Glad it's over.
I'll write more when I get to work(!), but, for now, congrats!

I'm mad at myself because I almost sold my bass yesterday. I've had it for 3 years now. My MTD 435 and it's the one and only bass I've had that I have a true connection with. I plug it in and magic just seems to happen to me. I feel a deep, almost spiritual connection with it. I know that sounds odd, but it's true. I was remorseful and mad. I was going to sell it to pay off a few things, but then I'd be without it. Again, I was pissed at myself and sad that I would do it. It's just an object but it's so hard to find an instrument you actually connect with. I went through probably 25 basses to get to this one and be happy. So fuck my bullshit. I need to stop being so aggressive and be happy for once.

And thanks! I'll just have a short paper to write on Robert Creeley, and then my bachelor degree is over and done with. I think I'll take a year off before I start on my masters. I want to read for pure pleasure again.
What's wrong with being a Marxist?

But anyway, glad to hear that it all worked out A-OK.
Fun fact about me: my office at the University at Buffalo (the last place I worked, and where I studied for five years) was adjacent to Creeley's. There are some cool sketches of him up in the lounge. And mine was directly below the one that Foucault occupied when he was there. But apparently Foucault got shitcanned for throwing bricks through windows in protest of Vietnam when he was teaching there in the early 70s. So he moved to San Francisco to study gay subcultures, then contracted HIV/AIDS and tapped out.

OK! I can definitely do a shitty job of that.

My answer would be "nothing and everything"

Foucault though. I'm a firm believer that he works best in essay format as opposed to book format. His intro Anti-Oedipus is the only part of that book i've ever been able to actually digest, silly enough. And his essay Utopia is one of those pieces of writing that will stick with me for life. Re: His moving to San Francisco and contracting HIV, i know it matters very little to the rest of his person, but i've often wondered about the stories of him being a Bug Chaser.

I mean if you say that you're a Marxist you kind of get lumped in with the mass extinction of political dissidents and most people aren't really a fan of that.

I personally believe Marxism is a little outdated, and all of the popular attempts to amend or update it have been pretty miserable failures, but baby/bathwater, you know, i'm willing to acknowledge it has its moments, even if i'm a very different end of the fringe left wingnut spectrum.

I can respect that. Guess growing up in a socialist country has given me a different mindset/outlook.

Really it just means that you have to embrace killing everyone that doesn't agree with you. It's the only reasonable conclusion AFAICS.

ISP today had a nationwide issue and I was scrambling for hours trying to figure out what was going on at multiple locations across the US before shit magically started working again.
How the fuck do you have a nationwide issue for multiple hours. Holy shit.

I mean, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao have some of the worst track records around. And lets not even bother treading down the road of Trotsky. I recognize that Marx himself did not advocate literal genocides, but it seems that the extrapolation of his politics into a statist realm often went there. Buuuut, massive simplifications, meet internet.
