Re: Pretty Years
This pedal definitely will take some time to get used to! LOL! When I first turned it on, it was all quite as shit and I thought I did something wrong, but messed around, messed around some more and got INSANE shit. Already found a setting that's super useful.
I think I will however be putting this in a bypass looper despite detesting them. The noise will drive me mad. LOL! It's perfect though. It can be it's own droning machine too, which is cool as fuck.
Or alternatively do you think putting in another pedal's fx loop would eliminate noise?

That was me...smallsnd/bigsnd wrote:i was informed that i stupidly left off the FM knob from the manual - to anyone confused, you need to toggle the FM +/- switch either up or down to engage the knob. the modulation can range from auto-filter/envelope-type effects to super gnarly fizzled out grit. ccw is less modulation, cw is more modulation.

Is the FM knob basically controlling an LFO or something?

Re: Pretty Years
nope it uses the signal at the input point of the filter to modulate the frequency knob - turning it into a crude envelope follower. for example: if you're using the filter with II switched up then Gain II will also act as like a threshold/sensitivity knob.yeatsvisitslincoln wrote:That was me...smallsnd/bigsnd wrote:i was informed that i stupidly left off the FM knob from the manual - to anyone confused, you need to toggle the FM +/- switch either up or down to engage the knob. the modulation can range from auto-filter/envelope-type effects to super gnarly fizzled out grit. ccw is less modulation, cw is more modulation.![]()

if you turn it on and it's excessively quiet then it may need one of those power resets. this was *very* uncommon but i think i did it once or twice. also, the tubes do take a few seconds to warm up so there's that as well.jwar wrote:This pedal definitely will take some time to get used to! as for another fx loop - yeah that should accomplish the same task as a true bypass loop.

Re: Pretty Years
Simple loop going through a high-pass filter the entire time. This thing is so god damn deep its insane. For some reason whenever I engage the final feedback loop it shits out the signal but that definitely makes some wild noises based off the frequency knob.

I think I've refreshed the tracking page at least 50 times over the course of the last few days. Iæm guessing I'll have it delivered in another 4-5 days. Keep the clips coming!! PUMPED!

Just got mine in! Looked at it and it's purdy. Can't wait to get home from work and plug it in. I have amps and guitars at work, but not a single power supply for a pedal.

Holy pepperoni Brian. You have outdone yourself. This thing is fire. So many sounds in one freaking box.
Word of advice. Dial in a crazy, honey badger on acid, sound in. Switch to second pickup at low enough volume to sound sane. Play a phrase in intermittently switch pickups for bursts of insanity.

I actually power cycled it like 5 times and still got the same result which eventually went away.smallsnd/bigsnd wrote:if you turn it on and it's excessively quiet then it may need one of those power resets. this was *very* uncommon but i think i did it once or twice. also, the tubes do take a few seconds to warm up so there's that as well.jwar wrote:This pedal definitely will take some time to get used to! It could be the tubes require more time to warm up than initially thought perhaps? I know my Toneczar pedals recommend a warm up of 5 minutes and they don't even use tubes as far as I know. LOL. So I bet that's what it is. Which is no biggie. My amp takes 5 minutes to warm up too.
I'll try it in an FX loop today!!!

Re: Pretty Years
they definitely don't need 5 minutes, just a few seconds really and they should be good to go. mostly if you just plug everything in and turn on immediately you'll get kind of a weak sound for just a second as the tubes get going.

Re: Pretty Years
Well either way my board goes on when my amp does, so we'll see! LOL!! It will have ample time when it's on board.

Re: Pretty Years
heya brian, I don't get any reaction from the CV in when i-iv are down; is that normal?

the combination of the 2 or the 2 separately? each mode should react to CV independently but when combined you may get weird results.resincum wrote:heya brian, I don't get any reaction from the CV in when i-iv are down; is that normal?

Re: Pretty Years
cv is for manipulating the filter and with all i-iv switches down the filter is effectively out of the audio signal path, so that would seem normal.
