I was still playing it up until a couple weeks ago when I moved into my new house. I haven't gone back to it yet, but I also haven't been playing any games since moving either. I will probably go back to it; I was still enjoying it. Although, I might replay Fallout 4 with all the DLC instead.
Dude, Far Harbour is fucking tits.
It's like a noir detective story with Stephen King fog beasts, a cult, and synthetic humans on a dank and rainy island.
It's like post-apocalyptic David Lynch.

You may have swayed me; post-apocalyptic David Lynch sounds awesome

So the great PSVR price hike begins - because any moron with disposable income will just pay $1200 rather than just wait another month. Not to mention that they're not even including the Camera.

Yeah, unless you're really into VR now I would recommend waiting at least one hardware iteration. It's cool stuff but first generation hardware is rarely ideal :)

I'm inclined to agree, personally thinking it's going to be a massive flop (at the very least in terms of games you'll want to play)

I tried a VR headset a couple of months ago courtesy of one of my gamer friends.

Very cool, very disorienting, very much lackluster in terms of actual games compared to tech demos disguised as games. I think it could be a pretty interesting aspect/avenue for spectating the competitive/big prize pool games, but obviously the price point is a significant barrier to entry.

Oh, you got me wrong. I really don't think it's going to be a flop. It's already far from a flop. It pays my salary, for example :).
But the current generation of hardware is just far from perfect. Usable, but not convenient enough for mainstream use. That will just take a few years though...

And yeah, price has to go down but this generation is for early adopters with money to spend anyway.

This. This is why I have yet to fund a single crowdsource-game pitched with a montage of cutscenes.
Too many recent memories of bait & switch for my liking; too many trails to places I'd rather not waste time, littered with abandonware.

That's also because developing things take time (and money and talent), and even big game companies start with small projects to learn how to use the tech properly.

Nah, you got me wrong. :p We agree in the sense to avoid early adoption/1st gen hw.
I added my personal opinion is the platform will flop because of underwhelming library/user experience. As you went on to explain, not convenient enough for mainstream use is a huge barrier in of itself, even beyond the cost of admission. The users who cant wait to get their hands/heads on it are mostly enthusiasts...who I anticipate will quickly become bored and move on to something else.
In recent decades, technological innovation has been driven by the desire to prioritize convenience as a quantifier of user experience. VR, reliant on headgear, faces an uphill battle.

I'm genuinely glad you're involved in working to prove me wrong. There's a dire need in the gaming industry, for more individuals with passion for you know, gaming.

Yep. I still played the shit out of Fantavision even though it actually was a tech demo. :)

VR headsets have uses already outside just playing whatever half-baked launch games have been made specifically for them, and anyone serious about gaming nowadays will usually have enough equipment amassed that the size/convenience won't stop them IMO.
There are a LOT of developers working on games and other tech for VR now, and computer manufacturers have been preparing for it for a while. When such a huge part of the industry has accepted the shift it's hard to imagine the platform failing, even if it's a bit of a rich kid gimmick for the first few years.

I'm really not excited though, because I get motion sickness enough without wearing a headset and i'm pretty sure the whole thing will just be a nauseating experience for me.

It fucked with my eyes for a good 30-40 minutes after I tried it.

I'm starting to think my Xbone was the worst purchase I've made in years. It literally gets used to watch youtube and Netflix or Vudu. The games all suck balls hard. What the fuck Microsoft. Like what the literal fuck? The only thing that's semi interesting is the Oculus Rift and that shit seems stupid as fuck, plus holy shit the price. Fuck video games. :(
