Raising my little girl at my moms and being unable to provide any income, with my little ones mother making 15 an hr and not being able to pay electricity often leads me to feeling there's no good future...try not to damn myself with intoxicants too much anymore to keep from feeling dependent on anything...if your family unit is good do your best to illuminate yourself in knowing they are all that matters, I find cleaning or rearranging my home cleans the bad air so to speak....there's just something in as long as you have some one, your mission of happyness in life will suceed...take the time and find a space where you can focus on certain meditation, in trying to quite your mind focus on the air you breathe in and out circulating all around you, close your eyes and focus on nothingness all the while using your ears to hear all around you as you breathe deep, stretches and correct eating corrects certain chemical inbalances , but a better peice of mind comes from controling your environment & the fighting will to succeed, with the ones you care for and care for you..money comes and goes...every time I get some its gotta go right back, you can do anything and you are capable of everything, life is a waiting game.

In the long run, you're better off with more rental properties.

If you get sick or cannot etch, acid splash is basically done. YOU don't need to do anything with rental properties. You can hire a contractor to fix things.

B) get more equity and buy more properties
Can you do both (get more properties + splash acid)?
That might help with both financial issues and keeping yourself occupied with something you like to do.

In any case, you're a rad dude jwar, just keep that in mind.

:idk:
My mom tended to go through depressive periods like this (she's also bipolar) and (since she didn't have hobbies) the only way she really got out of it was focusing on the church or something like that.

Thanks for all the support and ideas guys. It really, really helped me. I can't say enough good things about you folks here. You're my family and that's no joke. :)

So I read my wife a lot of your replies and now she loves you guys as much as I do. haha. Seriously though. I can't believe how many people are so supportive for each other in their times of need. I'm there for you guys as well. :)

I wanted to note that I do take medication and have for more than 20 years. It sucks, but it's the way I have to live and I've resigned to that fact. I used to fight it a lot and now I'm ok with it. It's a part of who I am.

So I decided that I'm going to do the property thing and Acid Splash. That seems the most peaceful to me. I am going to look at a property tomorrow, so you folks really did motivate me. It's one I can buy outright with my buddy (we are forming a small LLC and trying to get bigger) and we are going to flip it. It's really cheap. Like really cheap. 14k. LOL! After all is said and done, we'll maybe make around 6k each. That's ok with me! It's the start of our business and a way to see if we work well together without being in a huge investment. So I'm excited about that.

This evening I also had my kids draw something up on an enclosure for me so I could etch it. It didn't turn out perfect but all three of them contributed. So I'm excited to have it! They are everything to me and I love them so much.

At any rate, you guys rock and I really appreciate all the kindness you've shown me.

Just wanted to chime in with some sympathy. Only part I know much about is not being able to provide for your family in the traditional sense. My family unit had to move in with my in-laws about a year ago because I was going back to school. Sucks and I get all in my head sometimes, but there's nothing more important and precious than time with your kids. Whatever you choose, we're all here to help any way we can!

I'm totally down to send in another pedal to get etched. :poke:

But really, do whatever you need to do to feel better.
Mental issues are just that tricky kind of thing where its easy to ask and take advice, but everyone is wired differently and it's most cathartic to find the best way for you to reconnect with the world.

I have MDD and anxiety and kids and a mortgage and stupid amounts of debt and all that.
And I have a brother who has dealt with bipolar as well, so if you need a chat jwar, drop me a line.
I've been in a slump for what seems like years now and the last few months have been awful, and despite having days (like today) where I could give away everything and everyone in my life and start again somewhere, or just blow my head off, sometimes its just real simple things like good moments with the people you love, or an intelligible conversation that can make a difference.

Remaining connected is critical, try and do something that lets you do you, but gives you a great outlet to being a part of the lives of others and letting them into yours a bit.
Not too much though. I work in human services and while some days its my savior, others I'm actually unsure that, after nearly a decade in the sector, if I even know who the fuck I am anymore because I feel like I gave all of myself away.
So, don't do that, but a little is good.

Adam, dude, I think you're a great guy.
Funny, kind, honest, you say it like it is, and I appreciate all of that in you.

Being a stay at home dad is a full time job too, not as easy as people make it out to be.
You need quite a bit of patience, management skills and what not to keep things running smoothly.
Props to you man.

just some food for thought but when i enter a deep depression, sometimes it helps me to do things that make me uncomfortable. i think when someone enters a depression bubble, your instincts are to stay confined and not really venture out of it. granted this can vary wildly because one's judgement can become clouded when you're in that state but, as Winston Churchill put it, "If you're going through hell, keep going."
