i often refer to these people as angst-theists. they're so hell bent on "proving" that x-religion doesn't exist that their focus is singular. they're un-fun to be around because they lack the basic understanding of letting people do what they want to do. and they put as much stock in richard fucking dawkins (president of the angst-theists) as christians do in the fucking bible.

Yes, we know religion is pretty fucked up and all, but us discussing it around the dinner table for the 112th time isn't going to change shit. We all agree, so why keep talking about it? Go do something productive about it if you care so much. Go to discussion groups. Become a politician. But please let me eat my falafel in peace and worry about what other people are doing with their lives somewhere else.

GuitarSlim101: I tried shooting myself in the head 13 years ago, after years of depression and daily anxiety. Thank fuck the safety was on and that I'm a gun n00b. For me, sticking around despite the lack of happiness was worth it in the end. "The alternative is nothing, non-existence. Might as well stick around and see what happens." That's what my life philosophy became. Now, I'm in a better place. Still have OCD and general anxiety, but happiness has begun to take on a bigger percentage than sadness and despair. On atheism, yeah, echo chambers suck (unless we're talking guitar related device for creating echoes, of course). And I kinda think this group of edgelord atheists do more bad than good when discussing with religious people, as it always seems to fall back to standard positions - monologues instead of dialogues.

On depression, I haven't got much to contribute, except for hugs.

My wife is in the fucking ER. She went to have a few glasses of wine about 8 hours ago and I never heard back from her. Fell asleep with our son. Woke up an hour and a half ago and went looking for her. Finally called the cops and they said she was on her way to the hospital. She's sedated. They said she had an episode and was acting erratic and talking crazy. Waiting on the tox screen to come back now.

I survived my attempts, 6 and 7 years ago. I thought I'd never get well but I did. There is an end of the tunnel, and today I'm just so happy I'm here. Hang in there man, and as other people already said feel free to Pm me or whoever.

Also back in Sweden now after two weeks with my gf in Arizona. Next time I'll see her is in March, which SUCKS. For now I'm in a good mood though, because we really had a great time.
