Been lusting for that little fucker for the longest time. Makes no sense for a compressor freak like myself to not own a decent compressor pedal for so long.
Mah first Fairfield pedlol! Stoked! :hello:
How do you use this? To smooth out argeggios and finger picking? (Math rock style?) Or something else? Genuinely curious (and not just being a pedal jerk) How does it compare to say, a Boss compressor for the same sort of playing that you're using it for?

Just ordered it actually, don't have it yet. Not really sure how I'll end up using it, but I do try to play mathy rock styled weird stuff, so that was indeed part of the reason I wanted to try it. I also like really squishy/breathy settings, which from the demos I heard I'm not sure the accountant can do better than the CS-3 I had.

The CS-3 actually ins't a bad compressor at all imo. It does sound thin and sucks low end, and it can be noisy, but that might be more a typical thing for all compressors dialed in for extreme settings, rather than a flaw of the CS-3 :idk:

The tiny size of the accountant allows me to add it to my board without having to sacrifise something else, and the price wasn't too 'boutique', so...:idk:

i got an accountant in conjunction with a tc hof mini to beef up my cleans in my skramz band. it really helps.

if noise floor is an issue, the accountant is by no means a quiet compressor. it has a flavor to it, think light od settings on a fuck or mini because well, you guessed it, they're all jfet based pedals. i also leave the accountant on 100% of the time and when i kick on my fuck od it gooses the hell out of it and all fucking noise chaos hell breaks loose.

as for bass, well my bass amp sucks and if i have too much gain running into it it basically assplodes.

Finally got one of these coming in on Thursday. Been wanting one for about 5 1/2 months now. The one I got has really nice markings and color on the top as well, so that's a bonus.
huh. LTD does fanned fret builds now? innnnnteressssting.

hah. i have NO IDEA what goes on with basses. but that suh. is PRETTY.
I'm still not sold on fanned frets.

Yeah man, from what I read they worked with a guy to make this at a decent price point. They got lefties now as well, so there is finally going to be a major manufacturer making fan frets for anyone. Eventually I'm going to get a Quake fan fret as well for lower tunings. 40" F, yo.

Man, I was a little worried when I tried it out, but I got used to it pretty quick, and noodling all over the top end is so much more comfortable with a fan fret. Also, so is chording. Granted, it's a wee bit harder on the low end, but I really shouldn't be doing chords there anyways, unless I want mush.

Fanned frets are supposed to be easier on the wrists, no?

Either way, I think your hands adjust to 'em pretty quickly.

heh. i mean. i kinda DO hate the idea of major manufacturer stepping on Sheldon The Dingwall's toes. only chatted for a second at a NAMM, but from all social media shtuff he seems like a nice guy..

but that suh, is SEXY.

yeah. it took me like..... 3 minutes to get comfy with mines. and the only place it's a bit of a stretch is the lowest notes on the C string. rest is graaaaaabyyyyyy.

I dunno man, fan fret is scary to a bunch of people, if they could try it out and see that it is super easy to get used to, then they won't be so opposed to actually buying one. I think I'm more likely to get a Dingwall now. Possibly a sixer like you got. :D

But I also forgot that Ibanez has been doing some fan frets, just half as dramatic. I also don't like Ibanez string spacing, too close for me.

Update: I fixed it, it was really easy lol. Also getting a cioks DC5 to go underneath then I should be done with pedals for a bit. Then, it's time to worry about pickups and synths.
