"hardware hacking" by Nicolas Collins.
Sometimes it's brick upside the head simple, sometimes its fucking clear as mud, but it has been a great help. NOt much on bending in there, but cool nonetheless.

Re: so how many of us users are in the pedal building business
I'm actually considering getting into it. I've got a pedal I've designed geared towards extreme metal that's loud as shit, I've just been toying around with different tone-stacks to see which I like best with it and another that's a fucked up synth octave fuzz but I'm having volume issues with it (it
's not smooth at all, either too quiet or kills your amps clean headroom). I'm also toying with the idea of adding a sag/ pump control to either cut the voltage or double it. It's definitely interesting with the metal distortion, haven't tried it with the fuzz, yet and can't until we get a bigger place. I'm also having issues with naming them- too many ideas come to mind.
If I decide not to get into business I'll post the schems and layouts over at freestompboxes and/ or here.

Considering the Algal Bloom and 1134, I think it's safe to say that you're now officially in the business!

I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.
