Death Wish was Bronson.. Yeah Death sentence is worth the watch. It's kind 9f a bring down, but Baco is a supernova of fury and vengeance.

Tremors is a fine movie. It's a horror movie concept, but the film is stylized like a character driven thriller, which is fun. It's lighthearted when it needs to be, but raises the stakes and tension at the right times. Fred Ward and Kevin Bacon have good chemistry together. The lead women in the movie are adults with agency, instead of teen girls who fall in love with whatever turd is on screen, for no other reason than they're in proximity. It's low budget, but doesn't look cheap. It's not weighed down with tons of world building, exposition and backstory, but they weave enough into the story to make it feel "plausible" as speculative concept (especially because of the setting). It's not a great movie, but it's not trash. I can't speak for the sequels. I've seen some of them and remember nothing. It feels best as a one off story of something that could have a real life explanation, but plays out like a monster movie and would never be repeated again and probably not believed by anyone. The worst thing you can say about the movie is that it's corny, but it doesn't seem like it was by accident. It seems like the tone they were going for was a mashup of movies like the original The Blob and Jaws. A bit character driven drama, a bit 50's sci-fi B-Movie weirdness.

Good points. Yeah I really like the movie. Sure it's not the shawshank redemption, but it's a good watch. You're particularly correct about Fred ward and Baco, and the women leads. I'm sick of movies where there is some aging male star and for some reason the plucky 25yo female lead is all about it. Yawn.

The romance subplot in most action/blockbuster movies is essentially "Well, you're the lead of this movie and I'm the only female character who isn't 10 or 60, so...we're in love now". It's just relationship by proximity, where the woman is a prize for the main character because he won. Gross.

I thought the way The Kingsman did it was hilarious with the back door reference. But I'm perpetually 12.

Watched Daybreakers. A pretty good choice if you're looking for mediocre vampire movies.

In the year 2019, a plague has turned seemingly all life on Earth into BLOODTHIRSTY VAMPIRES. Humans, birds, ladybugs I guess, tree sloths, manatees, all of it.
Kind of interesting how they portrayed vampire society. I liked the CHRYSLER"daytime driving mode"CHRYSLER on the CHRYSLER 300C carCHRYSLER the mainCHRYSLER character drove.
Sponsored by CHRYSLER.
My favorite moment in the entire movie was a sound clip from a news broadcast in the background of one scene: "combustion of wildlife due to sun exposure is now the leading cause of forest fires".

Starring Willem Dafoe as Elvis, the wizened former-vampire who dispenses sage advice in the form of Elvis lyrics. Nice.

Who ever isn't?

I want someone to make a movie called HEADSMASHER. There's a guy and smashes heads. Really just smashes the shit out of them. Maybe with a shovel, maybe with a big mallet, the details aren't important, let the prop guys figure that out. Is he the good guy? Is he the villain? Irrelevant, there are heads out there and they're not going to smash themselves. Maybe there could be a twist in the third act where we find out that HEADSMASHER doesn't even actually have a head of his own. Not that, that's a bad twist, but something like that.

That might be the greatest Seagal movie ever. I don't mean the concept; I mean that trailer.
