I have a ton of samples from Samplified loaded up on my ER-301. Then I splice and dice them up as I please. I guess it'd be totally different with players like One and RadioMusic.

If so, what sounds are you putting in there?

I recently got a TipTop ONE and haven't had much luck finding the right source material to feed it.
jia. i use the BitBox, mostly as a drum source. i just chopped up/grabbed loads of samples from the Native Instruments Battery and Kontakt library.

That ER301 and that there Bitbox look fuckin' nuts.

I'm not ready to install a computer into the modular... yet.

My thing here is that I already have a ton of drum sources because I got into Eurorack to build out a Devil's Drum Machine.

I thought the ONE could maybe provide some kind of non-drum thing but it doesn't seem particularly suited to that. The ONE seems particularly suited to "I want a realistic cymbal sound" or "this sampled kick from analog before-times helps me sit in the mix." Maybe that's why its called ONE instead of MANY.

Here it is with a short vocal sample going Ahp ahp ahp, anyway.

jia. i use the BBox mostly as a CV'able drum machine. i'm not keen on having a whole computer interface in there either.

although the FLXS is pretty similar to a groovebox sequencer.

Yeah, Bitbox isn't really like a computer in your rack, it has a pretty focused UI and is straightforward to use. Yeah, Bitbix + FLXS is COOL. Hoping to see another update or two for FLXS soon. Iron out a few more minor bugs.

Tempted to get a FLXS but I need a bigger case. Should have grabbed one from the kickstarter. Though I've already seen at least one used one pop up.

I'm currently using 2 Pico Drums loaded with my own custom sample packs, which are mostly comprised of little drum and cymbal bursts. The picos are able to take superfast trigger blasts from Kitty Eyes and Telephone Game without bricking up, so they are keepers for sure. Some modules can't handle that speed. Capturing loops of that stuff in the Scooper for the slice and dice, and it's glorious. Just got a Blackstar tube reverb pedal in as well, and the reverse reverb is definitely the special sauce on drums.

Just stumbled across this too, made my day!

I've got a tyme sefari mkII, and so far I'm using it for most anything.

recording notes, slowing them down, turning them into the bass, or as a delay, or something from outside the modular from my phone, etc.

slowing something down by an extreme amount and then running it into my ultrafold is perfect noise.

sometimes i just put different drum hits from the BIA in there and go between them.
yurrrr. one of my favorite things ever was recording anything, stretching it a thousand percent on the computer, finding the accidental melodies that occur.

I can’t recommend the Morphagene enough. I feed it EVERYTHING.

Got an M32 showing up today, going in a rack w Euclidean Circles/Six Switches(here Tuesday!!!), Dfam, and Folktek stuff (Matter, Conduit, Resist, Alter 1&2). Should play nicely with the B&G and the Buchla.

After the Buchla tape, I kind of went eurorack insane with planning and shit. My second real attempt at eurorack was mainly building a dual m32 and a bootleg shared system with random Folktek modules. The new plan is a lot more versatile and focused i think. Less “this is cool” and more “this is what I want this to do”.

I’m lending the Easel to an ILF buddy soon, hopefully they record some cool shit with it while I figure out my fucking insane new setup and stop getting distracted by the ease and intuitiveness of the Easel. I’ll seriously sit down for two or three hours and end up just messing with one patch on the thing. It’s amazingly therapeutic but also I should probably dive deeper on stuff like Rene and Conduit.

I got in the next batch of Vidiots and just ordered a Maths :excellent: so now I'm looking for an attenuator with specifically 1v max in mind; is there something like that or will any attenuator work?

What do you mean ? You want something to make 10VPP signals work with video modulars ?
If so, your best bet would be something with a fixed 5* or 10* attenuation and then after that a normal attenuator.

Maybe ask the Ladik guy if he could do that, he's super open to new designs like that and does great and cheap stuff (and that could be useful for other people I guess)...

sorry for my ignorance, so please excuse me and my question. i have been curious about modular for a long time now but have always been curious as to how people would record in stereo with it? or i guess another way to put it is, does anyone here record with their modular setup and actually care about panning and the stereo field? I am curious about this and have always wondered if most people just work in mono (i read this a lot in articles/interviews where this is the case) or if there are people that actually go about recording it like you would with traditional instruments (almost like in a band setup) to be able to pan things across the field and have different things evolving in different places over time. I understand how this is done with tabletop gear and obviously running different pieces of gear into different inputs on an interface or micing up all the amps for all the different devices, but with modular i don't know what the possibilities and limitations of this are. Again, sorry if this has already been asked or if this is silly, but i am genuinely curious about this and have been thinking about it a lot lately. Sorry also if my question doesn't make sense, i will clarify anything the best i can and reword things if needed.
