Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Does anyone here have both Mikrophonie and Ears ?
If so, do you know if there is a difference in sound between them when using the module as an overdrive/distortion ? I know both circuits are open hardware but I can only read code, not circuits
.
I'm, considering an upgrade to an Ears at some point because the envelope follower/gate extraction is useful but I really like how Mikrophonie distorts

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
No Plaits til May for me
But muh Plaits comes 20% off, which is nice. To be honest I'd rather have the module than cash back, but it seems scarcity has made my decision for me. Good thing I didn't sell my Plonk/Rings yet

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)
I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
So...Behringer Neutron?
It's actually a pretty cool synth, for what will be mainstream affordable modular. I think at $299 it could join the likes of microkorg, minibrute etc as a renowned starter synth. I do like it better than the M32 at least.
The knobs and buttons make it look similar to the Roland FX modules. Made for mix & match with them and mother 32 most likely...or they're cooking up something similar...

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Ears distorts almost everything I put into it. I've actually been thinking of replacing it with a Sewastapol II for that reason. BUT I can see why that'd be desirable.vidret wrote:interested in this toooscillateur wrote:Does anyone here have both Mikrophonie and Ears ?

next on the list are VCAs and Attenuverters (they gotta be black tho). then I will probably build a case for my SV-1 and fill the top row with some crazier shit

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I only had a little while to play with Plaits so far, and I haven't even gotten into the manual yet, but damn does it sound good. So versatile too.
Idk what sequencer to pair it with. I got over using my Metropolis for everything but I'm missing that immediacy and ease of workflow.
What are y'all sequencing it with?

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
huge fan of the FLXS. what i do most all my melodic sequencing with?
or the DT through Shuttle Control. although my SC has been weird. need to hit up Endorphies.
also, was going to get a second Pam's, but i want to try the Drezno. so. she's inbound.

I'm going to sell my Pretty Years #1 for an intelijel case + other stuff.codetocontra wrote:Did you buy some modular Inconuucl?

...I just haven't gotten around to it because my guitar lawnmower noises would suffer as a result.

EDIT: This is where I am thinking of going as of now. There's also going to be a Beatstep Pro up in there. Or I will get something to interface my Ipad to the modular.
