You keep saying Erbe is too big, but honestly, it's so much more than a reverb. You could probably create a whole percussion track from it. Or get some pad droning. It just does things that reverb isn't supposed to do. Like I've begun to realize how specific the algorithms for reverb we normally use are. Erbe Verb gives you the keys to go beyond that and break it.

And yeah i mean if you just want reverb there is a whole market o' pedals. Euroverb seems to come in two flavors, small and either uncomfortable to use or uninteresting, and large with varied quality. Erbe is very very primo tho, I honestly have never played a reverb pedal or algorithm that I really liked until this baby came along.

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)
I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Also got a tracking number from Detroit modular for my Plaits.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Reverb pedals are just so much better still. Euro has pretty much no competition for the likes of Space, BigSky, Empress, RM1N, or even a Digiverb or RV-5. Just a handful of one-mode digital modules and a bunch of tankers.
The 2HP stereo reverb is getting some favorable reviews. I'm going on a spree through their catalog sometime soon but I'm pretty much decided on external reverb, because the gap in quality and options is just too great still. Filters and drives can spice up a crummy reverb, but I'd rather just get an awesome one and not mind too much that it has to be a pedal. It seems pedals are still the home format of all the best effects, ultimately. Modular delay is vast and amazing now, with lots of great module options. Reverb has the same potential already on the patching level, but the modules haven't caught up yet. The Rainmaker can do reverbs (see mylar's rainmaker overview), and now the Magneto is here, so it's moving along at least. I would still love to try the erbe but it's not in the cards right now.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I just ordered the black panel Grainy Clampit. Under the radar exclusive from analogue haven.
Now I have more incentive to get a STE.16, which I've always had gas for. My all black rack is starting to look 5u/prog rock/ponytail as fuck, and needs one more SE module.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Erbeverb is awesome. I don't really dig any of the reverb pedals I've had. Context is cool. closest thing I've had to a 'spirit' reverb is the Terverb which I foolishly sold. Someone sell me their Terverb...
Erbeverb does everything, and it doesn't sound like you think reverb should sound. It's super fun and inspiring to make your own reverb sounds, and then fuck em all to hell by messing with cv. I'd highly recommend it to anyone with 20hp available. It's also stereo.
Which is great for making your sound.... stereo.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Also, all of you saying you've never found a reverb pedal you liked really need to try a Mercury 7. Hype is completely worth it. Not saying you shouldn't go for an Erbe Verb, because that can obviously do so much more than any pedal, but the Merc7 is just so, so good.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
i like the Big Sky a LOT, and the RM1 is just beautiful.
does the Erb do any save spots? is it as oddly labeled and button combo as Rene/Phono/Morphagene are?

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
No buttons or hidden shit, 1 knob per parameter. No presets, it's super upfront about everything on the panel though. I LOVE the whole Shared System, and was not expecting to have Erbeverb come out as my favorite module. And Tempi. Tempi is sick.behndy wrote:i like the Big Sky a LOT, and the RM1 is just beautiful.

I liked the Big Sky best of any big box reverb units. The Empress wasn't for me, and all the 'boutique' more focused units I've tried (RM1N, Procession, Dark Star, Space, Descent, etc etc etc) just don't nail what I want in a reverb.
Also Euclidean Circles and Six Switches showed up, so did my (fifth

If plans hold up I should be heading to the studio to record a Shared System EP on Monday, something to follow up in the same vein as the Buchla tape.
There's me for the week.

The only thing hidden in the Erbe Verb is infinite knob positions and combinations. It's great.
