The Music Distribution Thread
I'm looking to release some music on some streaming services like Apple Music / Spotify / whatever.
Who here uses a distribution service, and are you happy with it? I'm talking about stuff like TuneCore, CD Baby, LANDR, DistroKid, etc.
Let's hear about your experiences!

Re: The Music Distribution Thread
My last band used LANDR, no complaints. Seemed easy enough. I think the others are still using it for their new project as well.

Re: The Music Distribution Thread
Seems like the easiest/most modern solution but I'm a little turned off by the yearly subscription model? CD baby you pay-per-release, which seems like a better deal. Also note that I don't need any mastering services.Aghartha wrote:My last band used LANDR, no complaints. Seemed easy enough. I think the others are still using it for their new project as well.

Distrokid alternatives? I'm fed up with them.
Want something that is a one-time payment and not a subscription or rolling charges.

Which annoying quirks are you referring to? Just curious because this might be the option I'm going with.

Re: The Music Distribution Thread
Can't recommend anyone to you but I can recommend not using Landr. They really botched the last three releases of mine in a row, were weirdly picky about stuff and had some of the most incompetent, unhelpful customer service I've dealt with. Offered me a paltry $5 discount for completely fucking up a release I scheduled 95 days in advance lol. Hope there's someone better out there.manymanyhaha wrote:Distrokid alternatives?
