For those of you following along at home, muffs dude got back to me, apologized, and shot me $25 for the shipping and trouble. Not a perfect ending but it's aight.

Ladies and Gents, I am selling off more Euro. With upcoming baby, crazy job, side business, Wife and kids...I can only really focus on one main synth and that is my Buchla. I am not selling it all off but I am definitely cutting back.

woooo! arrivedededed -

there was a delay shipping my Cursus, that should be here tomorrow. i'm super excited to play with self patching some of the sequencer applets into some of the envelope generating applets into Cursus.

Flipped uO_c is best uO_c...
In other news, I'm expecting a non-euro modular addition this week...

I am... EXCITED.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
oooooooo! BugBrand loot is so amazing. congrats!
yeah. i've only played with about 6 of the applets so far, love it. Hemispheres seems like the perfect balance of range of function, but simple interface. you give up some of the deeper stuff original o_C stuff did, but that actually suits me better. playing around i already feel like i have my head around the stuff i've used, and there is SO much to remember with a rack of modules that that just...... looks like it will work.
pretty geeked about these.
lololllololol. unforrrrrrrtuneatly one of the trigger inputs seems dead. the builder is a GREAT guy (Struan? ZZ Ardoz over on Muffs), so i'm not worried at all. will get sorted. and right now i still have up to 7 controllable buggeriboos to play with, so. YEP.
...... one of them is exactly like a Branches right now, because that's what this patch needs.

Behndy's Nebulae is in and I am so, so happy! I missed this thing! And now my setup is complete:

A super simple patch with the Nebulae through Chronoblob and the spring reverb from Field Kit FX. Sample is a drum beat that's been slowed down and pitched down:

That's sexy as hell. I love the form factor!
I'm returning to ask if anyone has ever used/seen in person a Roland 100m? I recently fell down this rabbit hole and need someone to talk me down from this ledge I'm about to jump down lol.

Thanks dude! I AM HYPED! The first of many! Or at least... some!behndy wrote:oooooooo! BugBrand loot is so amazing. congrats!

I was going to get a Chronoblob, but that would have involved Case Jenga. Then the Bug was made available to me, and... yeah. Now... the hunt is on!
HOT! The Moog 6u 60hp form factor is so yummy...MrNovember wrote:And now my setup is complete

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Thanks! I love the form factor as well. It works really well for me. I just spend a good hour messing around with samples with the Nebulae and it's so good! The upgrades from v1 are very well done; it sounds much better and the separate speed and pitch controls are amazing. I'm thinking of patch ideas and I want to try using the Nebulae's pulse output (which outputs a pulse every time the sample resets) to control Marbles tempo while CV from Marbles controls the speed (and other parameters) of the Nebulae. I'm curious what I would get out of that feedback loop.
Also, I lied, it's not totally done, but the meat of it is there. I'm thinking of upgrading my power to a Koma Strom since you can link a power module in one case with a passive module in another case, which would clean things up a bit. I also might swap out Links with Ears (which I still own) just so I can boost some signals into the Nebulae to be sampled. I also really want to build some sort of stand for the Field Kits; it would be amazing if I could line them up with the Moog cases.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
You should be able to use a pair of the 2-tier Moog stands and mount the Koma cases to them with some wood screws. Won’t line up exactly because of the top/bottom edges of the Koma cases, but it would be pretty close...
Or get 2 more empty Moog 60hp cases and transplant the Komas...

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I was thinking about both of those solutions. I would love to go for another couple Moog cases, but then I wouldn't be able to fit it all on my table.fever606 wrote:You should be able to use a pair of the 2-tier Moog stands and mount the Koma cases to them with some wood screws. I'm actually going to flip the Quadrantid Swarm when it gets here for a 3D printer, so I think I'm going to try to print something first

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
lol. sneaky SNEAKY flippety floop.
pfffffffffffffft. IF IT EVER SHOWS UP.
so, anyone here have experience with loading firmwares on o_C? the builder misunderstood and sent me them loaded with Hemisphere (which has all the og o_C apps except one or two, then most of the Hemisphere apps under Hemisphere) when i wanted to try out Hemisphere Suite (replaces ALL the og o_C apps with the full chunkah chunkah of applets that Hemisphere has available right now), so found the Hex files and loaded up with Teensy.exe.
LOOKS like it's loading fine, but it always boots into a screen that asks me to select Calibration or Select App, if i don't make a choice it hangs, if i select Select App then it shows me Hemisphere and the other 4 or 5 things that it's supposed to load (i think?), and i can scroll around and enter/exit any of the apps BUT Hemisphere (which should be the whole suite of applets), but when i click on Hemisphere it hangs.
posted in the support thread for Hemmies on Muffs, and Hemisphroroeohaer creator has been super responsive and invoved there, but i am soooooooooo leaving the one that i'm using to replace Branches in this patch ALONE until i find out what i did wrong.
edit - was told, "You'll need to make sure the aurdino IDE, the compile settings and teensyduino match what is mentioned in the wiki.", but i am DONE for the day. will look into that tomorrow.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
So I've been digging and apparently the System 500 Roland currently sells is inspired largely by the System 100m which is great because I don't have $10,000 to drop on a vintage synthesizer, but damn I realized I really like the form factor those had. Really large sliders/knobs with lots of room for patch cables and hands to coexist. I think one thing that has definitely turned me away from the modular lately is the playability. I have large hands as it is and unless it's the big knobs at the top of the Mannequins modules, it's kinda hard to get in there. I really love the Noise Engineering modules but it's a fucking nightmare to turn those little knobs.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
yar. i am loving the modular environment, i wouldn't mind if every module was an inch or two wider/taller. i have big hands too, it's pretty hard to get in and wuggle knobbers. i've been trying to be careful with patch paths and use the velcro cable strips to tie off big sections when i'm working with a patch for a decent amount of time. helps some?
uo_C shenanigans update - the advice about the compile settings seemed weird, but was too wiiiiiped out last night to think heavily on it. but i'm not compiling my own code, so as long as the Teensyduino was installed, and i think it has to be for og o_C to run, then the rest is on the compiling, which was done by the guy that releases it. i think. been forever since i coded anything.
but got up a bit early this morning and loaded the 1.1 version, works like butts. loads fine, goes into the Hemmie Suite, backs out and lets me get at those applets, everything seems golden. tried going from 1.1 to 1.2 in case it was supposed to be an incremental install or some such, nurp. 1.2 still hangs. so i can get the full Suite on there, just not the most current. progress!

Oh hay!
Here's a thing I did with my eurorack. Quick system explanation: basically a MN System Cartesian, expanded. At work rn or I'd go into it more. Love y'all.
