i feel sort of in the minority but.... i don't.... really like Mutables that much. love Rings, love Marbles. they are AMAZING.

ie, this is the second time with Plaits and i WANT to like it. just..... don't.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Plaits recently clicked with me. I saw it less as THE VOICE (as I had previously seen Braids as) and more as a utility. Nothing else comes close to having so many usable voice options in such a small footprint. Basic mono osc? Check. Chords? Check. Percussion? Check? 10+ other modes? Yep. I'd like to find some space for Rings and Braids back in my system at some point, but I'm packed to the brim with modules as it is. I think I can lose a few modulators and chord stuff which I'm not using as often, but I wouldn't turn down a second Plaits at all. Plaits + Rings + Plonk would make for some really wild poly string emulation, now that I think about it... hmmm.behndy wrote:i feel sort of in the minority but.... i don't.... really like Mutables that much. love Rings, love Marbles. they are AMAZING.

Always wanted to try out Tides, too, now that I think about it. Maybe he'll update Warps as well. Must reevaluate the rack.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I've owned most of the Mutable modules so far and the only one I haven't gotten along with was the Warps. It just never really clicked. Some of the modes sounded good, though. I regret selling Ripples, Peaks, and Clouds and really want a Stages and this new Tides if I had the room.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Really enjoyed that performance, kbit. Loved it actually.
Tides had never been on my radar before but seeing the new version with all of the different outputs is going to make me check it out. I guess I'm actually a Mutable fanboy now that I think about it. I really like the balance between complexity and simplicity on the newer modules. Plaits is so versatile in a smaller rack like mine.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I definitely agree. All of his modules are so immediately accessible and easy to use, but when you start pushing them, you can get really deep. Great balance and designsgreyscales wrote:Tides had never been on my radar before but seeing the new version with all of the different outputs is going to make me check it out. K-Bizz. dood. that was beauuuuuuuuuutifulllllllllll! thanks!
hurm. the TNSM is pretty awesome, but it's a lot of hp for such a limited amount of (linked) outs. only 6 hp more to swap for a Tetrapad and Planar 2. soooooo. those buggers are on the way.
just need Oscillasaurs to release the black face for Marbles then my shits is SOLID.
WOOT.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
We might release that performance at some point, gotta talk about how we'd wanna do it a bit more. I got a couple solo tracks in the queue to be mastered, so that'll be a thing sometime soon I think.
Thanks for the love y'all

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Curious to hear about the Morgasmatron, behndy. I've been interested in the old version for a while and the new one seems even better, especially with that Rat-style distortion.
