Amp issue? (Loud clean yields fizz in decay)
So when I have my amp cranked, I notice on the bassier notes, that there is a sorta crackly fizz in the decay. I haven't noticed this before. Any ideas?

What kind of amp is it? I needed a new electrolytic cap on my silverface vibro champ that had the same problem. Tubes were heating up like crazy and the bias was all out of whack.

Peavey Triumph 60. I sure as shit hope it's not a cap job. I'm not paying $250 for a cap job on a $250 amp. Phuck.

I was getting fizz in the decay on one of my amps recently. I put new power and preamp tubes in and presto, pristine.

First try it with a ext. speaker if you have one, with the built in speaker disabled. If thats not it drop in some new JJ pre-amp tubes.
BTW: The Triumph 60 is a pretty sweet little amp!
