I think music store live and pitbull are the same owner or buddies or something. Always have near the same stock and are really close in location. They probably just got some in from their distro or just had some in shop. I think they buy lots of dead stock from other places too (like proaudiostar and some of those dj stores).

Pitbull bought MSL's name/Web site in 2016, and then relaunched it on the West Coast. One is listed under Suite 101 & the other is under 102. I'm not sure if there's an still an East Coast warehouse or not, but there was for a time after the initial acquisition.lordgalvar wrote:I think music store live and pitbull are the same owner or buddies or something. Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
A friend of mine told me that his modern boutique fanned-fret, no-headstock guitar didn't sound good with vintage fuzz circuits - the active electronics I guess. I was trying to offer him Big Muff reissues to try, Rat clones, Supercollider etc, so we could play some heavy dirt rock as planned. The pedals he brought - I don't recall but maybe a Peppermint fuzz - were too mild. I never heard of this, a $2500 guitar that doesn't work with ordinary fuzz or distortion. Are there certain dirt pedals which DO work well with active electronics? Would a Muff reissue potentially sound so bad it wouldn't even be worth trying? He wasn't interested in trying any of my fuzzes (and I have a bunch).

I think his minds ear doesn't work with fuzzes. His axe choice certainly supports this theory.
Active electronics are shit though it's true
I would think fuzzes that are not entirely dependent on being first in line would be good choices as the active pickups will interact differently etc.
I think a TAFM is a good call, and maybe try a Algal Bloom 2

I’m not a Muff fan so not really my experience, but I thought they can generally hang with buffers and active pickups. (Did Gilmour keep using the Muff with EMGs?) Carcosa can hang with buffers.

I'm loving the Aquaduct but I wish it had more control. I want a random wave AND envelope depth control.
Wha I didn't expect was how much I would love the square wave vibrato, getting those creepy Lavender Town vibes and I'm in love.

Saw Morton Subotnick last night, so I naturally went in for the gear peep to check out his Buchlas.

(Not pictured: laptop, whack o' MIDI controllers, stack of DI's — many of which presumably 'cause he was playing in quadraphonic.)

Getting the email on the Fabrikat waitlist/lottery while you’re keeping pedge.
