This is not an unfounded laziness. It's an arduous process with lots of variables that can go wrong. Just get a cheap hollowbody and keep both
Tele's rule man. They're like the swiss army knife of guitars. Those semi-hollow ones sound so nice too. I personally don't own any sort of tele but every time I see one at a show, or play my buddy's (he has the semi hollow) I'm like... FUuuggggggg.
The second "best" guitarist I've seen live used two hollow body teles. Not that that made him play better. It was just really cool.
I hope I've convinced you to not ship the thing

Would be cool if there were some modulation effects (etc) that let some frequencies pass unaffected. Maybe that's hella complicated though...
Sounds like a job for those Eventide racks or Max/pd since they all have some sort of pitch detection and maybe you can go further with decision blocks and create your own multi FX triggered by whatever frequency is hitting in.
That's how the Boss RSD10 works too, but not sure you can actually control which frequencies and which parameters you want to affect. Also not sure, but the Zoia may be capable of doing it too.

What do people know about interesting tremolo pedals? I've had the tiny malekko one for years and it's great but I'm considering getting something with some additional waveshapes, particularly to get extra chop (square or sawtooth sort of shapes??). I'm also intrigued by the harmonic tremolo thing so anything that could do both would be worth a look. Nothing too big, expensive or complicated but just wondering what's out there now

i love and wish i had a nice tube tremolo, but apparently love isnt worth the price tag currently for me
also would love to try the caroline tremolo parabola, but wish they had not done the havok switch and instead given it tap tempo as it would be way more useful live

Moog MF Trem lets you control the wave form from triangle to both ascending and descending sawtooth and everywhere inbetween. Fantastic for lopsided, interesting shapes. Also its tone knob lets you control the cutoff frequency that the trem effects, which I haven't seen on any other tremolo. It doesn't do the square karate chop though, unfortunately.
I have a hunch that the MF Trem is really just the MF Ring at sub audio frequencies with an added shape knob. It sure sounds and feels like ringmod as trem.

Gristleizer ... Maybe? Will try dos' sometime and see how I like it
If I was on the market for a trem now, here are the four I would look at:
1. Malekko Goatkeeper
2. Subdecay - That new one that is rhythmic
3. The new old blood noise one
4. Dwarfcraft Twin Stags
And now 5. something from Copilot.
Just stirring the cauldron since you are in my coven.
