Non-Music GAS
I don’t know if we have a thread for this. But where I’m generally pretty settled with my music gear, I keep finding myself “gassing” for other things.
Lately I REALLY want to get an Arcade1up machine. But I don’t know if I want to get the Star Wars cab and keep it as it is, or get the cheapest one I can find and mod the fuck out of it with everything I can fit on the control panel.

I almost bought a Switch this week, which would have been my first console purchase since the original Wii. Instead I bought an expensive reverb pedal.
I still want a Switch tho.

We have had some of these threads over the years but screw finding them.
I kind of want another bike. And more tattoos. But that's probably about it.

I know it’s completely impractical, but owning one of these sounds like a ton of fun. That one in particular looks rad. Did you ever play the podracing arcade game?calfzilla wrote:I just want to buy one of those SW original trilogy machines that had the death star/hoth/vader saber battle.
Are there any games on it that you’re excited about? It’s one of my favorite systems because of all the weird indy games you can play on it. It’s also super nice being able to switch between playing it on the tv and playing it like it’s a fancy pants gameboy.friendship wrote:I almost bought a Switch this week, which would have been my first console purchase since the original Wii. I tried looking, but I couldn’t find any of the old threads... I always want to get a tattoo, but whenever I “decide” on something I always change my mind a month later. I’ve heard that there’s a weird pride with owning tattoos? Like, it’s something you “own” that can’t really be taken away from you?coldbrightsunlight wrote:We have had some of these threads over the years but screw finding them.

When I was a teenage neckbeard... I had several swords... I eventually got rid of them, because I didn’t want to hang them up as decoration and I didn’t think I’d ever use them in any practical sense.Blackened Soul wrote:I've always wanted a board sword

Various car parts to turn my boring shitbox into a dumb shakotan style shitbox.
Metal to make stuff out of.
Umm... that's all I GAS for right now. I really need more money in general but also time, there's never enough time. I wish I worked 4 ten hour shifts and got 3 days off.

Yeah, that sort of thing was the only reason I could see keeping them around. But unfortunately all the ones I had were purely decorative, “real” swords are kinda pricey. I also realized that having a weapon for that purpose would mean I’d be okay with killing another person, and I’m really not okay with killing another person.Blackened Soul wrote:I think this is why I haff yet to acquire a goodly sword... still the with the way politics, stockmarket and upcoming plague are going.. a need might arise.01010111 wrote:When I was a teenage neckbeard... I wish I had a place to work on cars and other projects. While it’s weirdly stressful when you’re doing it to fix your daily commuter, it’s still an extremely satisfying activity once you’ve fixed a thing. I also GAS for more free timeAchtane wrote:Various car parts to turn my boring shitbox into a dumb shakotan style shitbox.

Re: Non-Music GAS
Yeah, absolutely. Fixing your daily driver on a Sunday evening is a goddamn nightmare, doing it in your free time is much less frustrating. But still extremely frustrating at times, lol.
We're lucky to have a concrete slab in the backyard that's good for projects. Apparently a shed used to be there but a hurricane blew it into the neighbor's yard.

Re: Non-Music GAS
I'm certainly fond of mine yeah, I like having them. In terms of deciding on a subject I struggled thinking about clever or interesting or meaningful ideas for years but I found that once I was quite committed to actually getting tattoos and looking at artists to do cool art rather than me coming up with ideas it became very easy to not be that bothered about what the tattoos are of. To an extent.01010111 wrote:I tried looking, but I couldn’t find any of the old threads... I always want to get a tattoo, but whenever I “decide” on something I always change my mind a month later. Re: Non-Music GAS
I don't think I did, because around the time it came out I either rented it from blockbuster and played the ever loving shit out of it, or my neighbor had it and same thing. I bet the arcade with the actual pod controls would have been cool though.01010111 wrote:I know it’s completely impractical, but owning one of these sounds like a ton of fun. Also..... I half wish I had enough disposable income to find a working xbox and a working Steel Battalion. I feel like that game was just way ahead of its time in terms of controls/controller.
