I really am liking how more and more from first glance at my board set up you'd think you were going to hear whitbread layer blues form it
it's all about the usage

The pocket miku was like $25 originally. They have a lot more under the hood if you take the time.

Oh and here is something silly.. I bought a tabla a few months ago and they sent it in this HUGE box filled with pink packing peanuts.. I have been using them to pack pedals I sell, I think I'm on the 10th one using the pink tabla peanuts and there is still enough to ship 2 more pedals

For you non-native english speakers, how confusing was the term tremolo? Like, tremolo picking, manual vibrato on guitars being called tremolo, and then the effect tremolo. These are all different things that use the same word. It seems like it’d be confusing as hell?

Tremolo = change in volume
Vibrato = change in pitch
I used to work in a music shop for 18 years and I had to tell the people that there are no tremolo bars for guitar.
To make the confusion perfect Fender used the term "Vibrato" for a tremolo effect in their amps (and vice versa IIRC).

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
yes. You're entirely correct, but the use of the term "tremolo arm" is now so widespread it's part of the vocabulary and there's no stopping it, even though it's "technically wrong". It's like, literally too late to fix it.
I think this is what 01010111 was getting at? The "proper definition" doesn't really matter at this point.
For added fun, outside the "guitar sphere", the phrase tremolo in music notation can actually refer to two separate things - tremolo on a piano is moving quickly between two (or more) notes. Which is different from tremolo on a bowed instrument (or a plucked instrument like a guitar) that is a very quick repetition of the same note.

It's not confusing at all, once you learn to ignore native English speakers spelling it "tremelo" and pronouncing it "tre-mellow"01010111 wrote:For you non-native english speakers, how confusing was the term tremolo? Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I call it the FM lever. (Mostly I call it that thing that's lost for my guitar)
My amp has AM.
When I give a shy hello, I call it shortwave.
Who says tre-mellow?
Everyone knows it's whammy bar. That's the only way my dad knows what I'm talking about. The things on the floor are called fiddly boxes or wahwah pedals (no matter what they are).
