This is the classic ILF I love. Emotional highs and lows. Scooped mids in my heart all day long.

Re: Have you ever been close to tragedy
Twice I was the first on the scene...
1. Non fatal - but I was school age kid and got home after school, was eating a snack watching duck-tales (circa late 80's) and I hear the loudest boom I've ever heard. It was like the sound of a garbage truck being dropped off the empire state building (but this was no large marge tale). I popped my roller blades on and headed towards the sound. Down my block was a car parked crooked in the street with the door open and a lady screaming and crying as she cradled a bloody child that she just slammed with her car. The kid was flying down the hill, car had a stop sign, but it was one of those in the neighborhood that barely got a pause. Apparently this time should have stopped. I stood there in disbelief just watching while another neighbor appeared and ran and called the police. I later went home and told my sister who was hanging w her neighborhood friend. They went down to the scene to see the blood stains on the street and banged up tree that I told them about. My sister's friend recognized a sneaker sitting in the street as her little sister's....yep. Her sister got crunched by the car. Lots of surgery later she was fine, but it was a bad scene, and my story was what helped the family figure out where their kid was.
Time 2 - was driving through a main artery in my street and there was a loud bang ahead of me. As I drove on, I saw a school bus slammed into a telephone pole and another car in the middle of the road cock'eyed...there had been a near accident/accident. As I slowly drove on, I saw a person lying face down motionless in the street. Apparently, thrown from the bus. I drove on...and another 50 feet down the road, a second motionless body, face down in the street. As I pressed on, police sirens blared. Later, I read about the fatal accident I had just missed.
that said, I'm more of a black hat white shoes cadillac time bomb kinda guy

Re: Have you ever been close to tragedy
I once saw Tragedy (circa 2000 or so) and the opening band (They Live) was blowing fire inside a house (actually very dangerous now that I think about it) and one of the singers accidentally burned his face and had to go to the hospital for burn treatment. Tragedy were not amused. I was very close to the front of the stage.
I also saw His Hero Is Gone on their last tour. The place where the show was is a CB2 now.

Re: Have you ever been close to tragedy
I remember the Mighty Mighty Bosstones had this song called Illegal Left, in which Dickey Barrett gets so cheesed off about a traffic ticket that he sticks around and waves at traffic to warn fellow motorists about the cop. His opinion is that the traffic cop should be out solving "real crimes". I thought it was a clever and cheeky song when I was a kid, but now that I'm an adult motorist, I realize that illegal lefts are usually that way because they present a high risk of a collision from oncoming traffic. So just let people get ticketed and they'll learn to not do that again.
This is a very impressive collection of Roto Toms. That's 21 Roto Toms in all. That is only $33.00 a Roto Tom.

You've, apparently, never encountered Massachusetts drivers?

If that's the case...
Then I'm glad you haven't yet.
Because I'm sure it isn't good.

I love bands that have a full time hype person in the band, like MMBT.
Also in this category, Public Enemy and Front 242. Who else does this?
