Welcome back dubkitty, and I'm sorry about your previous kitty. But as for Otis, it looks like your familiar has come to you. :trippy:

i was looking for a name from a portly Black musical artist. i thought of Howlin' Wolf, but you can't name a cat "Wolf." Biggie was a contender. Solomon (Burke) is too long, as was Cannonball, and the latter also seemed rather pejorative. and he's far too nice to answer to Mingus. so i went with Otis Redding. in retrospect, i could have gone with Curtis Mayfield, who i adore and who was a childhood hero on the South Side of Chicago, but "Otis" is easier to say. and it suits him.

I still do that for my boy who’s been gone for four years. He was my first dog and the relationship was just so special and unique. Love my girl who passed and our rescue, who is just so good and sweet. But he was just amazing. You feel lucky to have had their life within yours.

Glad to see you back and glad to know you’re still making noises to scare the children.
