Made my decision and sold the Particle 2 yesterday. Fabrikat is staying for now.

I love my 1440 too! such a cool improvement over the 720!backwardsvoyager wrote:In: EHX 1440. Really darn impressed![]()
Incoming: EAE Model feT from the latest batch![]()
Outgoing: Boss OC-5. Phenomenal disappointment
Got some stuff coming in:
Korg NTS-1 Nutekt Digital Synth (wonderful, such a small box but it sounds amazing!)
JPTR Fx Add Violence
Also some stuff I think has to go:
Pladask Fabrikat (I decided to keep only the Bakfram, I love some algorhythms of the Fabrikat a lot, but hands down the BAkfram works better for me).
Zenzero Habu
Idiotbox Deathmaster (I got too many distortion pedals this year

Kind of went a little off the ginseng the last few days . . . .
Incoming:
Recovery Effects Phantom Operator
Recovery Effects Cutting Room Floor
Pladask Taken (2020)
Pladask Romferd
Pecan Edera
GFI Specular Tempus
Bliss Factory (This came in . . . like it, probably keep it and sell other FF's, this may be replacing Plasma pedal for a bit)
Out:
Cooper Arcades x2 (don't like having to set both back up again for every restart)
EQD/DBA Time Shadows x2 (nice but not much variety)
Oto Machines Bim (nice sound but too much menu diving, memory requirements of what button does what)
Oto Machines Bam (same)
Hologram Microcosm (hate this fucking thing, what the fuck are they thinking)
Erica Zen Delay (awesome but way too big for what it is)
Erica Fusion Box (awesome but way too big for a mono box on my board)
Strymon Mobius (may try a Modfactor instead? Want a stereo modulation unit in this spot but Mobius is not going to be it)

Arent those getting kinda pricey these days. Either it is not worth it or it's a sound investment for the future. Tokai hard puncers are awesome too. Cheap P-basses with good necks are getting scarce these days tho, they all seem to have jazz necks. I dont get that tbh, I have tiny hand but jazz necks are to tiny for me still. This may not be mech's problem tho sorry for making it about my tastes in p's
Got an HBE rangemaster, super fun stuff but I realized I gotta the pickups on my strat

I sold my Meris Mercury 7.
I would like another Count To 5, but with Christmas getting closer and three daughters + seven grandchildren to buy for, it'll be something to look forward to in 2021.

i'm not fussy about necks on basses (as opposed to 6-strings, where i'm very neck-sensitive) but i am fussy about weight (which is why i'm not throwing money about on now-overpriced old ibanezes). not being able to go to a shop and try stuff out suuuuuucks.qersty wrote:Arent those getting kinda pricey these days. also, i don't know why weight and nut width aren't standard info in for-sale listings when they are crucial numbers for telling you what a thing is gonna feel like to play.

I don't know about nut width but wood weight varies from piece to piece. Even when a company lists specs on weight that is just an average.MechaGodzilla wrote:also, i don't know why weight and nut width aren't standard info in for-sale listings when they are crucial numbers for telling you what a thing is gonna feel like to play.
Also over priced is all about context. As Fender and clones keep pumping out more and more soso POS all the cheap but good ones of yesterday year's prices go up. I haven't played a new fender in over ten years I would use on a 4 hour gig no matter what the weight is.. and really all there is to the "P" sound is a P pickup and "normal" woods like a maple neck and a body that is of a lightish wood [meaning not bubinga or rosewood or some crap].. You want light? I don't know maybe look at basses with basswood bodies? or do a project with a pine body?

-dealers and flippers have jacked up the perceived values of old mij stuff across the board
