haha fair I mean, when I say "big amps" I mean "loud amps". So if it's loud, all is well. I thought you meant cranking truly tiny amps for fuzz, which is not ideal though it is VERY FUN (as most of THEM aren't even that quiet in an apartment situation ), and I can't get by without at least one amp that will do for loud gigs and rehearsals (when those exist again).

that's another part of the equation...it's kind of unlikely that i'm going to do a band project in the forseeable future, and if i do most of the places to play in Charlottesville are so small that they'd chuck you out if you brought in a Twin Reverb. the folks i know who gig around here use smaller Fender amps or other little bombs like the Supro reissues. i've never seen even a single stack onstage anywhere in this town.

it's OK...my writing has been so sloppy lately that it's quite possible i'd make that kind of mistake. lately i'm dropping words from sentences while i'm typing. it's like some weird kind of ADDyslexia or something.

hahahaha wow. I do actually enjoy gigs where you can get away with a 15W amp and really turning that up, but I'm not involved in any projects like that ATM, volume is required at least for rehearsals
believe me, i miss the days when i could crank the Twin. but that's not the reality any more. one of the gigs on Ride's last US tour was ruined because it was booked in a facility with a 90 dB limit. if you pissed me off enough, i could probably YELL and hit 90 dB. they were exceedingly chagrined.

i know, right? the band was horrified...a comment from the stage: "we were going to do "Drive Blind" but obviously that's not happening." i expect their booking agent got reamed like an cored apple for that one.

Last night I had just realized that I had accomplished all of my gear goals for 2021, now that Darkglass has updated the element which I can plug directly and record off of Reaper which takes care of the last major purchase I wanted to accomplish by end of the year.
I will have to revisit this sometime down road but for now I just need to put stuff recorded and see what I can come up with.

BRO IS THIS EVEN KUSH??? IS BUFFERED? TRV BYPASS??? MY FRIEND DAMBLEDORE TOLD ME I NEEDED CRYSTAL LETTUICE.
i want to mod the gain knob on my throat locust to be a rotary switch with 3 steps: current minimum, the perfect medium (right now found between 0.00 and 0.01 on the dial) and max gain OR a log pot, but tbh I can't find more than three different modes of gain on the current dial, no matter how I fine-tune it.
OR
You could sell it to me and forget about those problems.

ROYGBIV DEVOE arrived yesterday. haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but this finishes the front-end board. now i have a bit of leeway because i really don't *need* to do the other two sub-boards for now.
