OK, that's pretty funny for Reverb. give the person who came up with "Santanatizer" next week off.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I am pretty happy with my current pedal board selection minus the fuzz I want and for the meager 2 hours I get to play I get to make fun sounds. It's such a fun feeling playing and collecting gear again - like when I was in my 20's playing gigs and trying to swoon loose women ( happily married now
)
I am however stuck when it comes to the device I want to record on - I have looked at the focus rite Solo and 2i2 and with my cheep gaming laptop I could load reaper and start recording. But something about opening up a laptop to record, right now just seems like the worst idea. I stare at screens all day long and its nice to have everything with just a knob and I can focus on just playing.
I dont know what would be a simple thing to record on - I have looked at the TC talkback and IRig but I would like to add a drum track and down the road layer bass lines (maybe try guitar again, who knows). I just need to make a choice..... but cool pedals are cool and I just want MOAR

I use zoom R16 for recording. It's got 8 inputs, 16 channels, built in mic, phantom power, works on battery, sd card reader, and works as an interface. It's been great. It's super simple. Love the thing.

R16 is dope. Totally insane to me that there is nothing that competes with it 15 years later.

Anyone in the U.S. willing to receive a pedal from a U.S. seller and then forward it to me (in Italy)? Eternal gratitude granted.

Anybody know the actual ma draw of the EHX tube pedals? Just got a DC7 and wanna get some of the DIN Flex cables, but then realized I don't know what they're pulling, wall warts are rated at 1000ma but surely they can't be that heavy? Cioks guys says it could power them no prob but it looks like 12v setting knocks the available juice down a bit. The EHX "manuals" are useless, as usual.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I never understood gain staging and transparent overdrives until I had a little but of success the other day, using an overdrive with gain turned down at the front of the chain to hype up my fuzzes a little, and an overdrive at the end of the chain to add a little grit and (this idea new to me) act like a limiter and keep the volume output consistent no matter what happens earlier in the chain (is this an actual thing other people do? Use them like a limiter?)
I realized that the dirt flavor the ODs contributed were sort of polluting the essence of the muff and fuzz factory tones, and making them sound a little too much like the OD’s flavor. Which is why a low gain OD might be good. In the past, when trying to stack pedals, they always sounded worse stacked than they did solo’d. I finally got stacked pedals to sound better, just slightly better but they added some extra life.
Does anybody use a low gain OD in front “and” at the end of their effects chain? I know this is a pretty basic question...

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Doesn't have the tube pedals, sadly.
For my country band board, I do sometimes. I have the slightly dirtier drive up front (sometimes after a comp, though) then something pretty clean and usually w/ some EQ like an RC Booster near or at the end.K2000 wrote:Does anybody use a low gain OD in front “and” at the end of their effects chain?
