Thanks to Mr Akimbo I have just ordered a Zoia, which should be here tomorrow :)

I've got to pop out in the afternoon for my first covid vaccine jab but it should be here by then, and it seems like a fair reward for being a brave boy.

;)
:thumb: Someone else to haunt the zoia thread with me!

Good news on the jab. We're at least a couple months away yet from the general population getting vaccinated.

The Erebus sounds bloody gorgeous. I used to have a V2 (which is one of my favorite synths) and I'm glad to have Dreadbox back in my life.

There's also a bass, a DOD Carcosa and a Shift Line Olympic MkIIIS to top this off. Time to make some new music!

What are you using to drive/deal with impedance difference on the spring?
Pretty sure the spring will be used with the Koma Field Kit FX (the white box beside the spring)

I'm simply connecting it to the RCA in&out on the field kit. Seems to work out fine — though I admittedly use it just as a metallic noise source most of the time.

i can't even tell you how much time i've spent in the last few weeks laboriously rewiring the front-end board and then checking every single connection before realizing the amplifier was on standby or the guitar not plugged into the board. it's reassuring that other, younger folks are also like this...i'd start worrying about early-onset Alzheimer's otherwise.

i'm finding myself reluctantly considering some major changes in the fuzz section. i'm thinking about moving the Distortion+ over to the front-end board so i can use it to grind up the output from the Shallow Water i'll get, and it's struck me recently that i need fewer high-gain fuzzes on the main board and more of the low/mid-gain stuff Megan demos on her channel. i think i'm going to get a Boss Blues Driver (i've seen some very convincing Blues Driver shoegaze demos) to sub for the D+, one of the Land Harmonic Percolators i've wanted for ages, and keep the Tall Font Russian and 3-knob Great Wall. the current setup has the MK II Tone Bender, LAL 46, and Great Wall back-to-back, and i think i need a more harmonically attractive kind of fuzz for what i want to do. the Tone Bender and LAL are kind of screechy. but i'm really tired of spending too much money on stomp boxes. i still have the front-end board to finish, and then the looper setup. i've never had a board without the D+, so that might be a little weird.

the good part is that i found what i think is the ideal device to fuck up the fidelity of the front-end board, and it was staring me right in the face by name the whole time: the Ibanez LF7 Lo-Fi. it has a broad enough range that i could probably get away with using it without the D+; when you set it to the microphone setting it can get ugly as all hell. that and the Shallow Water should FINALLY have that setup sorted. add the Instant Lo-Fi Junky, and whee!

I got a 4 hour jam session in last week :yay: with my Zoom CDR70 and just a few custom presets and I about shat myself. Such a powerful little pedal for under 130.00 - In order to use in a jam / live session I think I am going to need a simple A/B switch or a BOSS LS-2. Thought about a Earthquaker Devices Swiss things but its a bit rich for my blood at 240.00 - a nice fat credit card bill has cooled any gas I had for anything else atm. I have the luxury to just chill for a bit on the pedal purchases because all I am doing is just making amp go BRRRRRRRRR.

Jero sent me a Virus with the sickest finish and that should be here this week. Then I get to rewire my board again and be done for a hot moment - my love for the Bitquest is still very strong and its a great pedal, but with just scratching the zooms surface it may take a seat for a moment.

I've been buying too much stuff.

Gear is the mind-killer. Gear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my gear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the gear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I felt like that after five minutes with the Zoia :)

I'm still thinking about buying a Possessed though :yay:

My only issue with the Possessed is that my current set up includes:

Judder
Mood
Revolver
Polymoon
Fideleater
Fabrikat
Tensor
Count To 5
Superball
Stamme[n]

so do I really need another glitchy, blippy pedal ?

Wrong question !

Not do I need it, but will it do anything I can't do already ?

:erm: no? unless you're pokemonin' it :snax:

but, yes - as long as you're asking whether it's "unique" it is
as to whether you'll like it, that's another question entirely
it's got a mind of its own, moreso than others in the category....
