i'm not going to harp on about Devi. i'm not exactly a fanboi, and we all know she had a lot of issues as far as the business side went. but i absolutely agree that she ought to have gotten credit for the community-building aspect of her work. we wouldn't be here if ILF hadn't descended from her original forum. she did big up Malekko when they were just starting out. and without her my music would have been entirely different. it was reading that Kevin Shields used a couple of her boxes that got me interested in boutique/indie builders in the first place. i would probably still be on the MXR/Dunlop/EHX tip if not for her work. she was quite important in the rise of non-corporate builders, and it chaps my ass to see her be erased.

I think the way she just shared the schematics and sold kits was a game changer too.

Devi at her best was an amazing, sharing, boosting, communitarian force. Her enthusiasm of “Here, check out this great pedal” that she often had zero connection to was pretty fucking cool. We owe her a lot. It’s a shame about her worst but we’ve talked about that plenty.

Agreed on all accounts. PGS demo of the Hyperion is what led me to ILF in the first place. Owe a lot to her for introducing me to the weirdness of the pedal world.

I really, really hope shes doing well wherever shes at.

Those old PGS demos sure bring back memories. I remember discovering Devi that way too. As a young teen I wanted to have my guitar sound like chiptunes, discovering that somebody actually made a pedal called "The Bit: Legend of fuzz" was life changing.

I miss the days when a sub $100 pedal was unobtanium

iPhone is harder than android to copy/paste. Haha. Printing to a pdf is too. :idk: But I also still don’t know how to turn on my phone ringer. Garmin watch does it for me. :idk:

Would’ve watched two hours of little interviews like that over what they made.

Love prunes and custard.
