The Signal Path Selector definitely has my attention. Been paying attention to the OBNE Signal Blender for awhile, but this seems like a much more capable version.Gone Fission wrote:Both of the new CooperFX devices have my attention. Need to dig in a bit on what they’re capable of. The Signal Path Selector looks like it could do both LS-2 duties and advanced feedback looper duties. Under MIDI control. That’s nuts.
This thing looks pretty awesome too!The Eristic wrote:This thing finally came out, first demo I've seen.

Well this is one way to introduce a pedal...
New features/sounds start around the 4:00 mark. Fair warning, you may want to FF until 5:00 in.

Cooper bowing out of the CooperFX business today has my attention. If you are on the fence, pick a side...or curse the scalpers tomorrow. I wasn't too into these since I feel like you can accomplish the expression stuff with MIDI, but I jumped at both since this is surely the only batch. The order switcher thingie looks pretty cool. I have some things that do the same thing, but this one seems a little cleaner and with MIDI control, I'm starting to get some ideas.

I've waited for the updated Raster for the longest time, but i swore i won't buy anything until christmas so, considering the current supply chain problems, i hope they stocked enough chips and stuff to keep the production running.echorec wrote:Well this is one way to introduce a pedal...

That's a strange turn of events; release two new pedals, then the next day announce that you're not building any new pedalscosmicevan wrote:Gone Fission wrote:Both of the new CooperFX devices have my attention. Right color, wrong price. For $289, I need some more exotic sounds than this.

Chasebliss dual-out expression roller pedal thingy for $180: https://www.chaseblissaudio.com/shop-utility/exp
Meh-er. Much less exciting than the now collectible Cooper FX that was $10 more when you could buy one. The Source Audio Dual Expression does the same thing for a little more than half the price in a treadle pedal. So I guess this is people who want a very small board or maybe for desktop use?

Ben is reintroducing the Empress Chorus. He's still producing drive and fuzz boxes, too. I'd recommend the (monthly?) newsletter, since some of these are limited batches.

hmmmmm - can't listen right now - i wonder if it can be the one to finally knock off my [yuge] HarmonyMan - not putting the initial odds too high tho
...and, yeah, other than size and integrating the straight poly pitch shift stuff, nope :/ Keep wondering how much more the tech has to advance to get really natural sounding pitch shifting/harmonization (moreso in the up direction - down does sound a bit better). Pretty far I'd warrant since nothing sounds really good to me whether software or pedal or modular - kinda have to slather it in distortion which brings its own issues (one of the things the Digitech attempts to address in a way other harmonizers really haven't afaict)...plus the sidechaining feature on the Digi is aces.

Re: What's hot in 2021: PAINT ME LIKE ONE OF YOUR FRENCH FUZ
EHX's pitch shifting always sounds awful to me, and this new pedal is no exception. There's this "zing!" sound that gets added to every note that's pretty much the opposite of anything I would want. If I want harmonizing I use a Digitech TimeBender set to the shortest delay time and it sounds pretty good.

I used to have one of these, very legit. Cool they're doing them again.echorec wrote:Ben is reintroducing the Empress Chorus. He's still producing drive and fuzz boxes, too. I'd recommend the (monthly?) newsletter, since some of these are limited batches.

If I didn't have a chorus/vibe I'm happy with idb seriously consider it

Re: What's hot in 2021: PAINT ME LIKE ONE OF YOUR FRENCH FUZ
I don't know what it is but there's something in this new line of ehx pedals that makes me just want to stay away from them.
Uh also, I am getting tired of saying it, but every pitch shifter needs a tone knob to cut those annoying upper frequencies. Surprisingly, very few have one
