Same here - it’s very particular! I’ve settled on the DOD 440 reissue largely because it’s the simplest one. Too many knobs and too many variables make it difficult to find that perfect setting. I’m “intrigued” by the new EHX Qtron reissue for its size but I’m not ready to send the pigs out to pasture just yet on that one.

I’m also sure that there may be a perfect synth pedal out there that might work for you. I’d maybe look at some of the Pedals and Effects demos as Juan plays a lot of synth pedals with a lot of fretless bass….

I've been watching some of those videos, but I don't really know what I'm looking for with an envelope filter, modulation effects are new territory for me

I have a pretty heavy thumb playin style, I also use tape wounds

I like the mu-tron iii but I think that's just cause it has one knob hah
