octave up and down pedal for bass?

putting one into the other will make the tracking tough. so i'd split the input signal to both, then mix them on the output. should be doable by adding a dual opamp on a perfboard (ask around on diystompboxes and i bet you can get some good answers).

but if you want to keep things simple, i'd probably put the octave down first since it seems to be more sensitive.

just for my own curiosity though I've only heard of an opamp in like a boost pedal situation so what would the double opamp be doin in this context

double opamp is just two opamps in a single chip. most pedals with opamps actually use that kind of chip, including the tubescreamer. often opamps are used in a way that inverts the signal, so having a second is often useful just to invert the signal back to its original phase.

but it seems you're set on both pedals - why not just put each in a separate channel of an LS-2 for example?
