I've had both, but I'm not a guitarist. Wouldn't you actually be able to make it where flat in the middle is "zero" and then have a positive and negative range for the expression, or just two outputs left and right of center so multiple pedals could be controlled.
balance board and expression pedal...I think it'd be fun, but maybe I'm a crazy idiot too.

Fender did somthing like this on their Fuzz/Wah and Volume pedals. I mean it wasn't balance-y it was just a left/right control. And It wasn't an expression pedal...

Right, but think of the insane sound it would make! Sometimes you have to take one in the name of exploring that which has yet to be heard.
