so Reverb is playing this up as a "poor man's mellotron"
i know how much a real mellotron costs
but since when is a $600 something a poor man's something (unless you're talking about a house, or a car or an education)?
anyway, i'm pretty sure it'd be hard to find an actual poor man that has the dosh for this particular something :/

As I’ve said before, Pigtronix has done nothing to justify the existence of this pedal that has fewer features than and is (normally) more expensive than the Constellator, its other 1590B mini-sized BBD delay. They do mention two MN3005 chips, which, at 600 ms max time, suggests that they are trying to minimize noise and maximize fidelity. But they don’t come out and say this. Perhaps why this is already on sale?
And I just poked and found it. The Pigtronix site now clarifies that it’s a Guitar Center dealer exclusive. And Musician’s Friend, too, as a sister company. So probably a higher MSRP for a “big discounts” routinely. Unless you hate modulated delay, I would just spring for the Constellator if you want a small BBD delay like this. I would have kept that one if I didn’t already adore my Rubberneck.
