Effects Pedal Christmas lights

Post by T.U. & T.V. »

Hi again.

Just checking if anyone has seen/crafted a set of Xmas tree lights that are effects pedal inspired? If so. . .hmm. . . what is on your list for what would light up best?

From what I have thought of:
EQD - Swiss things.
Stone Deaf Efx- Tremotron
Korg pitchblack plus tuner pro

As long as they don't use those extra bright leds that you get on some pedals that would require a welding helmet to say ho ho ho.

Thanks for that Velcro Bottom - Right I sense that you are someone that likes to play under the hood. . . I have circuit bent a few things but LED's are not in my wheel house. Thanks for the tip and I will make a note to pay more attention to brightness of LED's. I suppose they are either on or off in my world.

Onto the idea and image of old saint nick with a welding helmet that is a different topic as well. I do not seem to remember any elf with a weld helmet in the work shop or let along the sled shed. I betcha Miss Clause was a very practical person, she probably carried the weight of the whole project.

Any pedal ideas for the xmas tree configuration besides the LED angle?

Honestly, I'm one of those who has no idea what I'm even looking at when looking at the inside of a pedal, I'm just a caveman who is happy to plug in and make guitar go vrooom buzzzz buzzzz. Some pedal lights burn my eyeballs.

I am also a lousy welder even if I do own my own helmet, maybe I should use it on stage.

I think that santa claus's shop with elves welding and Mrs. Claus running the whole deal would make a good concept album, or maybe a bel canto opera. Lots of job opportunities for contratenors with soldering irons.

Further musings about this topic. Usually I purchase pedals or equipment when our budget gets reset each year. After I spend the amount of $ I allocate for such purchases I tend to move into a coveting stage. No funds equals "hmm what next". As you do right. . anyways when I covet a pedal that I cannot afford I print out the manual and start to draw the pedal. The jewelry side of things comes up so that I can have a physical replica of the pedal. Don't we all have small miniature pedal boards full of replicas that is on our "some day" list.

So yea the pedal that I covet right now is the Gamechanger Audio Plus sustain pedal. I think I have come to the stage that I wanna make that pedal into a broach.

More to come along.

in pedalworld swiss things is going to be hard to top for blinkenlights, but have you thought about coveting eurorack modules - they can really bring the blinkenlights :snax:

Speaking of covet & steel, I think I'd rather have this Sho-Bud Christmas Tree amp:

Volume pedals - right right. . I recall watching this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGR0UeOntrQ video about Mitch Gallaghers board and he raves about the Visual Volume Pedal. Apparently the pinched his love from Don Carr (see time stamp 8:40). The pedal is a wide unit to be sure but I can see why it is of such significance as you can see the led for where you link the volume to be at etc etc. In my opinion (which is meaningless haha) the pedal would override the Hottone as it would be the OG to it. What the freak do I know though.

Having said that - Having the pedal attached to a high heel shoe with fish net stockings should be top notch. . . What if that shoe toggled up and down on the light strand. . . Gush!!!

Hey Chankgeez - that amp looks mean as. Oh my. . . is that yours, how did you come across it? That display is something. Is it polished chrome? I dig the way the light shines through the instrument jacks (Normal and Vibrato. . . it is anything but normal). That little toggle switch on the top right. Those nobs right. . . a professional nob tweaker would have those on a shrine. Yikes, I dig the way the light shines through the circular cut out to define the numbers (and the spaces between). Is the panel flush with that gorgeous wood enclosure (two layered)? What speaker is that????

She looks skookum as frig mate!

I reckon that would make for good amp jewelry. On a nice not over the top chain, low key like. . . I would fan boy that for sure.
