Ernie Ball Mariposa
I'm not talking the actual fancy pants Mariposa, but the Sterling version- anyone own one? I played one the other day and was pleasantly surprised how comfortable the body shape was- like, really, really comfortable when sitting down. And the neck was really nice- a lot nicer than other Sterling stuff I've played. It didn't make me want to play Mars Volta riffs but it did make me wonder...maybe there is a Mariposa in my future. And the Pueblo Pink is

Re: Ernie Ball Mariposa
I somehow scammed Ernie Ball into sending me one of the California ones when they were released. My take was that it’s just an Ernie ball guitar. It’s flawlessly built and plays incredibly well. Very high quality and stable and rock solid. Incredibly well balanced too. That being said, it’s nothing special compared to the other guitars they make, which is what made me mad about it. The pickups are generic hot paf style humbuckers. They didn’t sound special to me in any way. The bridge is just your standard fixed fender style, though it looks cooler. Essentially it’s a valentine or a sterling or any of their other double humbucker bolt-on guitars, but mor expensive. Knowing Omar and his gear history, it’s very boring and I see no reason why, price wise, it’s more expensive than any other guitar they make.
I know that’s not very helpful as it’s not the sterling but it’s what I got. I’ve never played a sterling but if they are half as solid as the USA guitars I’d say it’s a great but kinda boring live guitar.

Re: Ernie Ball Mariposa
The Sterling version keeps popping up at my local GC, and I always love holding that roasted neck! I feel it's a touch wider than most of the other double buckers SR was mentioning (and he's also right about how they kind of are all identical, sound-wise), but I also appreciate the balance of the off-kilter shape.
Most of the new 2023 Sterlings have a roasted neck & locking tuners as standard (but also higher prixed to match), so I'd like to think they have a similar feel. However, that body shape has a way of making the Mariposa feel more balanced, at least in my hands, but I haven't tried the rest of the line, yet, either.
All guitars should be available in any shade of pink is allsimsayin'
