i mean. grain of salt. because i SUCK at finishing ideas. but i never feel like i make progress towards songs with disparate sequencer options. i need clips and recordings and patterns and such all in a central thinger?
Yeah I kinda agree with this. It is why I have moved away from having a big capable euro sequencer, would probably rather use MIDI and digitakt because
a) that's a sequencer I like and it's better than most euro stuff and I already have it,
b) like you said, my drum patterns and synth sequences are saved in one box per project!
yurrrrrrr. i went into modular after i quit doing bass band stuff because i sat down with my all software setup and.... fucking hated trying to do music. the weirdness and versatility and just FUN of modular made me interested in noises and musics again. and i learned a tonnnnnnn noobling around.
but now it feels like a lot of software, and a LOT of Ableton, is built on the idea of Modulate Anything, Here's A Weird Way Of Doing That, and Injected Levels Of Randomness. all the things i adore about modular.
totally not ditching my euro loots. but i haven't turned on my main case in awhile. urf. haven't evend used Chaos once. been having a blast with soft stuff, Ableton, and a few hardware synths.
and yessssss. easy savability and repeatable actions and everything in one file is GOOD.
