(Non-classical) piano method for adults?

So I was given a cheap but decent enough “piano” style electronic keyboard thing, and I want to work at it a bit. I did classical piano lessons as a kid, so it was one of my pre-guitar instruments and kind of the deepest one. (I have the passing thought that my life would be different if I had gotten a hand-me-down mono synth, portable organ, of electric piano at 13 instead of a guitar.) But that fell off long ago. Along with sight reading, with the bass clef getting the worse of it.

Has anybody seen any self-instruction stuff for adults that’s less stiff than the Suzuki stuff that I had started on? Rock, pop, not-too-deep jazz? Wouldn’t mind working on Satie pieces, but I’m happy to leave the typical Moonlight Sonata parlor music to everyone else.

Have you ever checked out this book? I have a copy around here somewhere. When I was working with it years ago, I felt it was quite helpful for diving in immediately. (basic rhythms, straightforward informal concepts)
