Like I said, I'm super happy with how the pedal turned out. It sounds so unique compared to all the fuzzes I've heard/tried. Works perfect with my bass in both active and passive mode. I really need to find a way to record some samples. It sounds amazing.


Opened that sucker up today because I was curious about the inside and it's so clean looking.

In case you can't see, that says "First of it's kind". Oh yea! That's awesome!

It almost looks like Tom maybe did write "it's", which would be improper, rubbed it off, then re-wrote it a little darker.

I asked Tom to make me an "Algal Bloom Simple", the "simple" being pronounced like it would en fracais, like "SIM-pleh" , without the Starve knob. I have another Algal Bloom:



...that is full featured with the Germanium Choke. I've found that my favourite setting for the Algal Bloom (or at least what I prefer to use live, as it's my only fuzzbox that I use in TBT) includes no voltage starve and no germ choke. So he was most excellent in fashioning me this Algal Bloom without Starve (heresy? ). It'll be my sort of like "touring" AB, whilst the other will be saved for recording and dicking around.

And it looks exactly like I had imagined it.

p.s. I suppose the question now is whether or not I should use them simultaneously.

I just love the knob layout on those 3 knobbers. And huge knobs are da shizzle
