Hola forum,
So I've decided to make some sweet videos over my winter brake of all of my fuzz pedals (around 20 I think). What's a good cheap route to go? I know nothing about video cameras.

Do you frequent bassfuzz.com? I would bet that Grygrx would have some good input on this...
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

i don't think the camera itself matters much, unless you are talking about spending $2000+....but it's hard to make a pedal vid sound 'right', i.e. as good as it does in person, unless you use an external mic. seems like most people don't, though. i know i don't

While it's not nearly as nice, and ultimatley more time-consuming, I guess you could record audio and put it to still images if you needed to (with pictures of settings for each sound)... I've never used any movie maker apps, but you should be able to combine them into a video.
If nothing esle, maybe you can record the audio while making a (poor-quality) video w/ a digital camera and possibly splice the better audio with the low-res video, so at least you'd have good/better sound. (Again, I could be wrong here as I'm not familiar with those apps and what they're capable of!)
I've wanted to do some pedal-related noise demos like this, but it doesn't help that I don't even have a tripod... Oh, yes... Maybe you should get a tripod, haha.
Sorry I'm not really knowledgable about actual video recorders, but hopefully this was remotley helpful...

once i get my third devi pedal I'll start making some vids, what I plan to do is (seeing as how im a mac user) to record the video on my phone and at the same time record the audio in garageband with a 58 and a 57 then with the vid on a micro SD move it over to my mac on a mSD USB reader, edit the vid in iMovie, put it all together, save it to an external HD (once i get one) and upload it to the tube

Camera-wise, just something with good vid quality (unlike mine).
Then, if you can, record the sound separately and sync it up in something like Movie Maker.
Here's the thing--my camera compresses and "pitches up" sound. Everything's higher and faster on its video. Which makes it very hard to sync. So if you're recording audio / vid separately, make sure your camera records in freaking real time!!
I really need to get a better camera.

SUP, DEWD? I never told you this, but that's a bitchin' 12 oz. Mouse avatar...
Anyways, might I ask what type of camera that is? If I can just do that w/ movie maker, I might do some demo myself (I really wasn't certain)...
I don't have a good enough computer/camera myself, but I do have access to a laptop and a newer Kodak "Easy Share"-type cam...

I'd recommend checking out your local circuit city, as they probably have some pretty good deals now since filing for bankruptcy.

Webcamera and a decent recording system, with emphasis on the recording system.
Don't want to put any peoples that uses the built-in mic of any camera down (including myself on occasion), but anything is better than that. Even a wobbly mini-jack into the mic input of your sound card directly from the pedal
(or, is that better?).
That idea with just pictures of the settings is cool, although sometimes the transitions between settings are interesting as well, especially with the radio interference that happens

Re: Video Camera for pedal videos!?!?
I tried to make some vids this weekend, and he sound is terrible, and my playing was bad. I wonder if useing an external mic might help, but I don't really have one.
