Ok.
Mike came over and a mighty blues jam was had.

So here is the anchor...
Plywood lawsuit body which I routed out under the pickguard and added a piece of cherry which the bridge pickups and neck attach to, ebay neck, Swedish [supposedly] firebird pickups from Subway guitars in Berkley CA [I wish I had bought a create of them in hindsight...] and a ask pickguard I make. It makes a LP feel light...

Well one of my upcoming projects is a bass VI useing a flying V body and a dano longhorn neck, I just need pickups and a bridge... I am on the fence about a pickguard :idk: I'll do a full photo documentation of the build :snax:

you and your flying V's........awesome gimmick. 1000% Guapo.

great blog...and that stratobird or whateva is the boss!!!! you do incredibly kool work and seem to have the patience that i greatly lack. i am crash and burn. my best work comes easily, once a prob rears it's head i lose interest and move onto the next project.
inspiring to me.... .... makes me want to be more active in building and modding and i would but my biggest problem is just: i don't need any more fukking guitars and selling them is a hassle. it's so hard to make money...fuk i'd be into breaking even but i never do unless is done for an established artist. i'd rather sell them to my friends but ya know how that goes...oh well. it just never works out. sooooo...i end up with another guitar. it happened with those chinese LP's. i ended up giving some of them away.

anyway.....enuff about ME.......YOUR shite is bad arse! and .. thanks for posting these works of functional art.

Thanks bud!
But really what you say is exactly where I'm at too... to build them to sell would mean I'd have to sell enough of the things so I wouldn't have to do anything else for $$$ and there are soooo many people building now... plus I actually am very impatient as well... I hate finishing and fretting, and sanding, and sanding.... I almost always build something because I want something I can't afford  or I'm bored and get a crazy idea... :idk: I actually go back and forth with how much farther I want to go with this... :idk:

Oh, and Vs are tuning forks with strings :thumb:

I got the neck off of ebay.. But I thought all parts sold them as well :idk:

From a glance... no you would have to move the bridge. It has to be the 24 fret ones to do this [longhorn, U2, Hodad] the new ones have a 22 fret neck on the same scale so the neck will be shorter so you would have to move the bridge back about a... inch or so..
