EHX Pulsar...

Post by Skarrgus »

... should i get one?
I'm in the market for a versatile tremolo, but nothing as crazy as 4ms' Tremulous Lune. I'm looking for a trem that can do super fast (for ring-modish tones). The only other one I've come across that sparked my interest is the LAL Riplet, which is no longer made.

Another one you may want to think about that I've heard people rave about is the Catalinbread Semaphore. That one can go very fast, almost to ring-mod territory

Judging by the PGS demos the Pulsar should be what you're looking for.

The Semaphore does seem nice, but it's out of my price range. I can only spend about $90.

Pulsar is a pretty decent one...but i've been dying to get my hands on a semaphore

Have you checked out the earthquaker hummingbird? I heard a new revision (v3 I guess?) should be coming out with a few extra controls. Slightly over your price range but not as much as a semaphore. Can probably pick up one of the older used ones for cheaper. I'm waiting for one of these as well.

It seems like a good bang for the buck, and versatile.I've been interested into it myself, but I decided to bite the bullet and get cusack tap-a-whirl,I think it will be here in a couple of days. :yay:

Another tremolo unit that caught my attention in terms of sound and versatility is a seymour duncan shape shifter, but I didn't check the price tag... :idk:

Two others you may want to check out are the Marshal VT-1 Vibratrem,

and the Vox Cooltron CT06TR

Woops the Vox is twice what you want to pay.

The Vibratrem isn't weird enough for me, but is a great pedal. The Vox looks delicious, but, yes out of my price range for now. And, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with the size of it. I also like the simpler layout of the Pulsar.
