I wanted to put jazzys on my gretsch hollowbody, but later scrapped the idea. I still love the idea of it though.

I've gotta replace the body, too. Maybe I'll make a Telemaster but with a Jazzmaster PU in the neck.

I think Novak has a JM in a dog-ear P-90 looking package to mount in a Tele neck position with no routing -- it all sits above the body. If you don't need the aesthetics of the cover, that might be the way to go to make life easy.

Re: Jazzmaster PUs on a Strat?
i did something like this. and i have pictures about the transformation. so, here you go:
i had some spare parts: jm pickup, fender tremolo (from squier super sonic) etc.
so, that's what i bought for this purpose - stagg strat in jazzmaster shape (a little bit smaller in size specs but same scale length)

changing the trem to the fender one made this closing process of the original holes necessary

the trem should get tele 3 tele saddle so drilling new holes in the the trem

copy routing the original pickguard

pickup routing process

for the bridge pickup a tele one was intended - so taking the tele for this

finished tele bridgue pickup routing

neck pu

new routed body

pickguard template

finished instrument (on the pic some screws are still missing)

this guitar is staying in our rehearsal space for the case a string breaks or jam partner showing up. a lot people like playing this guitar

Re: Jazzmaster PUs on a Strat?
Thanks guys!
That's happening when i have spare parts lying around...
@eatyourguitar: yes, i wanted to keep a trem in this guitar (the body is already routed for itI and i got a glendale tele trem for my super sonic. so the original trem was obsolete and i copied the glendale idea with the tele 3-saddle thing on this trem.
