Ibanez????
Well just wondering if any body had experience with them. I've been looking at hsh to get a single coil in there and Ibanez seems to be the best quality. Just wondering whats your view on the guitars, whats the difference between the V7/V1/V8 and the INFs pick ups? Good quality over all? Thanks.

Re: Ibanez????
I honestly am too shallow to get over the pointy strat look.... but people who can get over it seems to like them. But everytime I see one I think "forgotten 80's/90's band."
My friend has a red double cut-les paul looking one, works/sounds just dandy. They do seem like quality guitars. Another friend has an acoustic (not even close to what you're looking for but) and it's pretty sexy, and plays nice as well.

Re: Ibanez????
I looked a ton of ibanez guitars before I was offered the awesome deal on my jackson...any particular models you looking at? I found the quality control on some models absolutely sucks (perhaps price related)
The ibanez brand pups usually don't get much love. The wizard neck and zr/edge trem can't be beat, but their pups (both the V and INF sets) leave something to be desired. Outputs seem to be in the vintage range and they sound muddy/flubby. I don't understand this since ibanez caters to the shred/metal crowd.
Some of them come loaded with some nice dimarzio's, but they tend to be a bit more. I plan on buying an s prestige some day...but if i'm dropping $1300 on a guitar I'd prefer an LP studio first

Re: Ibanez????
My brother has a Xyphos and a double cut Les Paul thingie. They're comfortable and sound good, only problem he had with his was a switch that broke shipping the double cut to him. One of his tuners is a little wonky though.
I've got the starter kit bass, it's good. Had a jack fail, but other than that it's pretty nice. Stays in tune forever.
EDIT: Ibanez basses have trouble with the strap buttons falling out, I don't know why they haven't fixed that. So far my brother didn't have any trouble with either guitar though.

Re: Ibanez????
Don't mind the wimpy jazzmaster/tele players bro
I almost got an rg370dx but I found a rhoads V for 50 bucks more and jumped on it
The trem isn't as nice as the ZR's they put in the prestige models, but the edgeIII is a decent floyd style bridge, especially for a $400 axe. Wizard neck is top notch for the price...fast and flat, I'm sure you know this already.
The pickups were sorta so-so as mentoned above...you'll have to decide for yourself if you want to swap them out. Some people like them. Toss in some blackouts and you've got a pretty cheap metal monster.
(For the record I love teles/jazzmasters...but I dig pointy stuff too

I can only add plus one on that, even though you didn't ask anything about that guitar,so sorry for that

As for pointy ibanez,I'd rather be dead than play that ugly synthetic piece of shit, but we're all different.
