I've always wanted to find the one boss pedal I like. I almost bought that HM-2.... I was curious even though I don't play metal.

As a rule of thumb I avoid any pedal with the word "metal" in it, though I've heard good things about the hm-2.

If the emma pisdiyauwot doesn't live up to the hype I may look into a hm-2.

it's probably worthless for metal....but if you keep the eq fairly flat and the gain low, it's a GREAT overdrive. the only problem is lack of volume. I modded one to make it louder but it didn't sound as good.

also, it plays very well with the more trebly DE pedals, either before or after them.

Always wanted one for bass for that Godflesh-y tone. If anyone wants to get rid of one for cheap... :hello:

I am the opposite, I have an odd fascination with "metal" pedals. So far I only have 2, a Heavy Metal and a Super American Metal.

DOD FX56B it is the American Metal with an added bass control that can really beef up the sound. The distortion by itself is good if not a little generic sounding kinda trashy kinda punky distortion but the bass is what makes it a little more special. It can really give it extra oomph. Again though I am a big fan of "metal" pedals and some of the older dods so it might not be all that special, but I thought it was $35 well spent on ebay.
