The neck is great and that's definitely a good idea. But, would the Jagmaster pickguard fit on those bodies?
I am liking this- http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Bodies/Vintage/SplitJazzmaster.aspx... Does anybody know if the bodies come pre-sealed and ready to be painted or would that be extra?

Edit: I just realized nobodies mentioned Ibanez' Jetking series.

Sorry man, this guitar is like vintage, and it's very unlikely to find it for a decent price, with the vintage collectors doing their thing and all that...I've been in the studio for a rehearsal, and the guy that runs the place showed me what he got for, like $220...a framus jaguar copy.I wasn't impressed by the looks of it,or the weight of it,it was like holding a feather, too damn light. But when I plugged it in a tube amp... :omg: :omg: :omg: It didn't had the sound of a jag, rather a mustang, but what a sound for the money...totally vintage...AND louder than humbuckers...maybe.I was shocked,I've played a similar framus, but with one pickup, instead of two on this guitar, but it was nothing to rave about...but this was awesome.Needles to say,I went home kinda bitter that I didn't found it first.

This wasn't much of a help, but I had to say it,I still can't believe it. :mope:

Actually, the original Jagmasters were the Vista Series, which had a 24" scale. The ones with 25.5" weren't made until 2001-2002, and I believe they're part of what's called the "Standard Series".

I check once a week, and I see 'em about maybe once a month. They've ranged from $165 to $320... I got the silver one I'm using now for about $180 w/ free shipping. Couldn't pass it up. But, I also see a lot of them with custom pickups, pickguards and finishes.

And, CWY's right- it's the Supersonic. I've tried one, and it sat really awkward on my body.

My bandmate had a blue sparkle Supersonic, and I loved the shit out of that guitar. Sadly, he had to sell it to fund building his custom Tele deluxe. >sigh<

I still miss the Supersonic.

I've decided to convert my sx tele to a jazzcaster. I'm going to put the JM pups and a tremolo on it. I have to scrape some cash together.... So who knows when that will happen. I'm really wantig that JM tone right now. Hopefully there won't need to be a TON of routing. Could I do it with a dremel? Or a drill!? I don't have a router and don't feel like paying any guitar tech 100 to do it.
