1997-98 CIJ because I totally wasn't expecting to dish out the money for it. But because it plays like butter and sounds super sweet. Needs to be cleaned and set up, but no biggie.
Now who wants my tele?
*QUESTION*
I cleaned and oiled the fretboard today and noticed these ovals. I'm assuming it's string wear, but I'm curious if more oil would perhaps reduce the appearance of these? Or is it oil buildup because I didn't polish the fretboard enough?

Yes sir it is. Fell in love instantly. I tried to talk him down, but only got a little off, but the guy was only selling it because of his tendinitis so I didn't want to be a dick and hassle him about it. Really need to raise the action, though. String buzz like crazy when I use a pick.

Looks like string wear to me. I kinda dig that look on a fretboard, gives it a played in look. It shows up more on Fender maple boards. In fact, Leo hated seeing it on his early maple boards so much that he introduced a rosewood option.
